Summary:

In this movie, Jeff (James Stewart), a middle-class photographer whose work makes him travel all along the world has a relationship with Lisa (Grace Kelly), an upper class girl. At the moment Jeff is resting in his appartment for a few weeks in his town due to his broken leg. As he is bored, he starts to watch everything their neighbors do, Miss Torso, a old couple who has a dog, a young couple who is enjoying their relationship, two women, Miss Loneheart, a pianist and an old mysterious man who kills his wife, who is the person to whom the movie goes around, when Jeff and Lisa start to become curious about him.

Review: 7/10. Nice film in general

One of the points I like the most about the film is how Lisa and Jeff start to question their relationship. She says that that they are in love and thinks that this is all that matters, However Jeff thinks that him being from a lower class than Lisa and his uncomfortable lifestyle (because all the travels he has to do) their relationship will not work. I would have liked that they would have talked more about this.

The scenery is always the same: a block of flat and and courtyard, but they use it originally. The outfits Grace Kelly wears are stunning and gorgeous.

Music

The music I like the most is pop music, international pop music. Here are some of the list I’ve been hearing so far this semester. Reblog if you like any of them!

Viva la vida - Coldplay

Plot Twist - Sigrid

Wonderland - Natalia Kills

Begin Again - Taylor Swift

Battle - Taylor Swift

By the way, I’m that kind of person that infatuates with a song and doesn’t stop listening to it until two weeks later or so

To Catch A Thief, Alfred Hitchcock, 1955

To Catch a Thief, Alfred Hitchcock, 1955

John Robie (Cary Grant) is a white collar thief who lives in Côte d’Azur. A series of thefts happen in that place that has Robie’s mark, which is the reason why the police suspects that it might be him. One of the possible next victims is the mother of a rich american heir, Frances (Grace Kelly). The best thing Robie can do to prove his innocence is to discover the true thief. When he meets Frances, she thinks he is the thief, but later on she changes her mind and helps him to get what he wanted.

Summary

An upper class girl, Tracy, (Grace Kelly) living in a fancy mansion is planning her wedding with a perfect man, George, (John Lund) after breaking up with another man not so perfect, Dexter, (Bing Crosby) who had previously cheated on her and that was the reason why trey broke up. A middle class man, Macauley, (Frank Sinatra), who is kind of a journalist, comes to film the lifestyle of upper class people.

In the end, Tracy ends up cheating on George with Macauley after getting drunk and realizes that she is still in love with Dexter. She ends up marrying  him. All of this between a lot of games and confusion created to entertain the public.

Review

The characters were quite charismatic. Again, the clothes Kelly wore were stunning. The situations were quite funny. The scene with the boat was one of my favourite parts
