While I've Shared Her Campaign Before, Today I'd Like To Direct Your Attention Specially Towards My Friend

while i've shared her campaign before, today i'd like to direct your attention specially towards my friend Amal Ashour (@amalashuor / @moatasim20101010) and her family.

ten months ago, Amal was preparing to receive her master's degree in french language studies as she and her husband joyfully watched their little daughter Maryam grow, learn, and play as she neared her first birthday. now, they have been displaced several times and are barred from returning to their home. instead of happiness and celebration, Maryam turned one amidst unfathomable destruction.

fearing for her daughter and husband and wanting to continue her education, Amal is determined to obtain the funds they need to escape the genocide and provide Maryam with the safe childhood and bright future she deserves. so far, they have raised a little over €12,000 out of the €30,000 necessary for their evacuation, putting the campaign only about €3,000 from halfway to the goal.

if you have the means, i encourage you to give in whatever capacity you can to Amal and her family. if this isn't a possibility for you (or even if it is), then please share this post, one from Amal herself, or those of other users working to amplify her campaign. your contributions, whether material or not, go such a long way.

let's do all we can to help Amal, her husband, and precious Maryam reach their goal as quickly as possible!

(Amal's campaign is #175 on @/el-shab-hussein and @/nabulsi's spreadsheet)

i've spoken about his situation before, but i want to highlight my friend Mahmoud's (@mahmoudkhalafff) campaign again, as progress has continued to be fairly slow.

with the help of his college, Mahmoud was able to evacuate from Gaza alone after being displaced four times with his family. he is now in Ireland, teaching and studying to receive his PhD, and is trying to raise the necessary funds to bring the rest of his family to safety, first in Egypt, and then hopefully with him in Ireland.

the Khalaf family consists of eight members, several of whom are children. they have been displaced repeatedly and have faced unremitting danger while moving from place to place, including being trapped in a building by sniper fire and witnessing the bombing of their neighbors' house. luckily none of them have been injured (or worse), but Mahmoud fears it's only a matter of time.

over almost four months of fundraising, Mahmoud has only collected €17,684 out of the €30,000 he needs to evacuate his family. please share his posts and donate if you have the means to help him safely reunite with his loved ones as soon as possible! your help can make all the difference

(Mahmoud's campaign is #151 on @/el-shab-hussein and @/nabulsi's spreadsheet)

My Heart Breaks Into Millions Of Pieces Whenever My Brothers Are Able To Send Me Pictures Of The Kids.

‏My heart breaks into millions of pieces whenever my brothers are able to send me pictures of the kids. Seeing their innocent smiles amidst all the suffering fills my family and I with as much courage as it does with pain. It's not merely the walls of the house they were supposed to grow up in that have been reduced to rubble; Precious irreplaceable moments of their childhood along with so many hopes and dreams have also gone up in smoke. Due to the ongoing genocide and constant dispalcement, they have been robbed of the simplest of joys like going to school or having fun at playgrounds, since all those supposedly safe spaces have been destroyed. Instead, they have to wait in endless lines for some polluted water, fend off insects and endure the unbearable heat in the tent. Not only that, but our children and newborns live in an unhealthy hazardous environment due to the piles of waste and filthy sewage water surrounding them leading to the spread of disease including all types of skin rash and bacterial and viral infections.

‏what makes it even worse is the shortage, if not total absence, of medical care, medicines, and hygiene pruducts.

‏ Desdpite everything, my family have been trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy for the children's sake. Some teachers in the camp set up a tent to help kids learn and forget their daily struggle, so my brother and sister have been taking my nephews and nieces there. It's not perfect but it made the little ones really happy. It is literally an ordeal to provide ingredients and even cook food every day. However, my family have been doing their best to make some treats for the children and also get them some stationery but it costs a fortune to buy the most basic items now in Gaza if they are ever available.

‏My family's day to day expenses keep increasing due to the blockade and skyrocketing prices. It cost them a packet (300 euros) to only buy the smallest gas bottle which they couldn't believe they could find in the first place. They have been using it sparingly since it's considered some type of luxury now. After losing my job and due to my own struggles in Germany, I haven't been able to provide for them as I used to so I was forced to send them donation money meant for their evacuation which does not seem very likely at the moment. That's why a great amount of the funds has been exhausted to help my family pay for their ever rising daily expenditures, and I had no choice but to increase the goal of the fundraiser from the thankfully raised €70000 to €100000.

‏cannot begin to imagine what would've become of everyone if it weren't for your generous support. Words fail to descibe how grateful I am to all of you. I sincerely wish I didn't have to but I have no other option but to ask for your help again. Every member in my family, especially the children and newborns, is in dire need of any contribution whether it is a reblog or donation. They are literally fighting for their very survival so please continue to help them get through this insufferable hardship as you always have. I truly trust you will 🙏

In the light of this heartlessness, blatant anti-Palestinian racism and callousness, please consider spotlighting a campaign. One person might not be able to spotlight all campaigns, but if a lot of people commit themselves to one or two campaigns, and hold themselves to the promise of fighting for it, we can all collectively do a lot of good.

You don't need any special qualifications to do this. Sure, if you were hosting the GFM campaign itself or are responsible for transfer of funds/information, then yes, you would need to be qualified and responsible to handle that, but I'm talking about simply taking it upon yourselves to make sure a single campaign (preferably more if you're able) is getting reach and doesn't die down.

Reach out to a campaign from the vetted list, especially if it's low on funds. Check regularly for progress and update in reblogs to reflect that. Tag people for reach in every update (as many as there are people who will whine and stomp their feet at being asked to care, and can't even do the bare minimum of ignoring being tagged and remaining silent and instead go on a racist rant, there are also people who are happy and willing to be tagged.) Cross-post on other platforms. Make banners or anything eye-catching if you can. Communicate with the campaign owner with machine translation or otherwise if you can and if they are comfortable updating you on their status. Send to your friend groups and discord servers. Reblog and queue for times where people are most active on here.

I could scream and cry at the people who made these accusation all day, but in the end the best justice is to actually try to make up for any lost traction.

Daily update (28)

Our homes enrage them and terrify them. They are afraid of this great, lofty, lofty edifice. They think they have been able to destroy it!

They do not know that this house will emerge from the rubble, and they will rise!

The oud inevitably intensifies, then tells us the story of sacred revenge, survival, the stable house that will not be demolished!

Daily Update (28)

" my friends, I urge you to donate to me and get me to the next goal of $30000 CAD by the end of the next week. I suffer a lot, I am in constant danger, please help me rebuild my home."

Hello, I am Mahasen,a Digital Artist from North Gaza, where creativity thrives despite challenges. My father passed away, making me the main provider for my family.

For The First Time Since The War Started, I Managed To Get A Green Apple On April !.. And Haven't Had

Before the war, I worked in motion graphics with international companies, specializing in character design and storyboarding.

The conflict forced us to evacuate repeatedly, and our home was damaged. My essential art equipment and tablet were stolen and destroyed, representing years of hard work and creativity. Now, we are homeless, unsafe, sick, and financially insecure.

Our family includes:

My mother, 62.

My sister Mai, 35, visually impaired.

Myself, Mahasen, 31.

My brother Mohammed, 28, visually impaired, and his wife Iman, 28.

My youngest brother Amin, 21.

Your support is crucial to help me rebuild and ensure my family's safety and survival. Your contribution will replace my tools and restore our hope and creativity.
