forgetting is one of the biggest mercies of Allah. Subhan'Allah imagine if we just walked around carrying every little and major thing that made us feel anger, anxiety, sadness or despair? how could anyone move on in such a state?

the beauty of the arabic language is that the word for human (انسان) comes from the word for forgetfulness (نسيان).

and that's why Allah always keeps His door open regardless of the fact that we say we'll stop committing sins, that we'll pray more or give more charity, etc. but forget. it's how He created us. we forget, but at the end of the day, we remember that we have Allah to help us with that thing we're stressing over. we remember that hey I messed up today, but with Allah, I can do better tomorrow.

if Allah doesn't punish us for forgetting, then why do we do so to ourselves and to others?
