god i . the fact that i truly enjoyed this drama so much is what made this ending so fucking painful. the fact that everything the drama built up towards was just put into ashes in a single second. the person the king fell in love with was jang bonghwan. wholeheartedly he fell in love with jang bong hwan, the man who moves faster than he can think, who cooks delcious food and talks informally and says the most strange outrageous things, the man who carries himself with such obnoxious charming pride. the biggest evidence of the love cheoljeong had was the queen's dictionary, that was his most vunerable and loudest expression of love, and the very foundation of it was based on jang bong hwan, not anyone else. the fact that they tried to sell the episode as a happy ending hurt so bad because the king has no idea the person he loved was no longer there, all he had was this hollowness of losing something.. someone so important. and jang bonghwan being forced back home so fucking suddenly.. this man was prepared to raise a whole fucking CHILD after falling in love with a man he never thought he could love. he was ready to change the world with cheoljeong and yet you dare call an ending where the 2 will never meet again, where one of them doesnt even KNOW they lost their fucking love of their life, a happy ending??? none of the dynamics will ever be the same. so yong doesn't have the same relationship with the chef or with the head court lady or with hongyeon. it was jang bonghwan who they all fell in love with and its not fucking fair that he'll be seperated from the family he found so beautifully forever .

the only thing episode 20 of mr queen is, is a fucking heartbreak. it hurts. 20 episodes of beautiful character development and storytelling all for a superficial fake ending that doesn't include the character the entire story centred around..... mr queen was never about saving so yong. it should never have ended with so yong reaping the benefits of what bong hwan worked towards. bong hwan deserved to live the life he dreamed of with the man he loved and with the family he found.
