I just noticed how much shorter Toothless' little middle nubs got

(Sorry the angle isn't the best in the second picture)

I think it may be partly because of the angle(s), buuut looking at other screencaps it seems like they might actually be at least slightly shorter. They definitely changed the shape/design of his ear plates a bit in HTTYD 2 (maybe you could even find some differences between HTTYD 2 and THW if you looked closely enough) among other things, so I wouldn't be surprised if they made the middle pair shorter for whatever reason.

Au where Toothless and the Lightfury don't like each other but hiccup is trying to get them together to stop nightfuries extinction and grimmels trying to get them together so he can catch toothless?

I think the lightfury would be a British shorthair since they're so round
