If Its Not Too Much Of A Bother Could You Show Us How You Draw Or Study Faces?
If its not too much of a bother could you show us how you draw or study faces?
This is such a dense subject and you could fill a book on each tiny feature of the face but if you're talking about like, facial composition and thought process then yeah sure!

do you have any tips on drawings noses? particularly non-white noses?? all the tutorials are european noses and i just want to learn how to draw my own nose!!
oh i feel you. the nice thing about being a poc is that you can always study yourself in the mirror to learn how to draw yourself better! but anyways:
if you’re wondering which kinds of noses are frequent for which race, i like to use this guide. I can’t verify how accurate it is, but it’s pretty damn comprehensive for racial traits around the world. I also really like this guide for learning how to draw a variety of East Asian noses (it’s not all flat!). Here’s an equivalent guide that includes drawing African noses. And there’s always Google images for more specific requirements.
+ 3D models are really helpful when drawing noses: x x x
+ here are some general nose tutorials by better artists lol: x x
EDIT: Check the notes for an updated version (different names are used)
Some people requested a nose tutorial some time ago, and I finally got around to show you how I draw noses. There are a million ways on how to draw them, but this is atleast how I do it!
Not a comprehensive guide by any means, but just a few things to think about when drawing noses. Above all, PHOTO REFERENCE is your friend, especially when drawing different races.
Kemonomimi/Animal ear on human tutorial as requested by a handful of people. Note that this tutorial was made mainly for drawing aurin, and this is just my method of doing it. If anyone finds it helpful then it’s worth the effort of making it. I was looking for similar tutorials, and I couldn’t find any which explains the basics, and I had a hard time at the beginning placing Cia’s ears, because I was going with the human-ish anatomy, and it didn’t really work out (well duh obviously). Having a real object you can have at hand/look at is probably even more helpful. The photos are made of a Monster High Toralei doll, you can pretty much see the form and the shape of the ears on the head. If you have a spare couple of bucks, buy one from ebay (either the full doll or the head only). I can promise you, it helps to clarify things a lot.
