Remi has no siblings, and the relatives she's close with are all older than her. But she does have one distant cousin named Ollie who is her age. They get along quite well.

She loved her mother more than anything in her life.

She hated her father with every fiber of her being.

She witnessed her mother's murder. (Her father was the killer) She put up a whole "I'm smiling, see? You don't know how I'm feeling when I'm smiling" facade afterwards, only dropping it during/after the war.

A pocketknife. A gun. A pocket watch. A map.

The house she lived in with her parents, before her mother's murder. Surprisingly, she commonly has dreams of nothing but a clock. Ticking, ticking, ticking.

Her mother's murder, mainly. The moment her father looked up and locked eyes with her.

The first thing she shot was a deer. The first person she shot was some random redcoat.

Not really. Maybe she made a little more money than she did pre-war.

zephyr didn't have a lot of other kids to interact with when he was younger, being enslaved and all. his mother died during childbirth, and he was looking forward to having a younger sibling. he lost both of them :(

he had a great relationship with his mom. she gave birth to him when she was 16, violated by her "owner". she took care of him very well, providing for him and making sure he had enough to eat. eventually, she was weakened by her past pregnancy and other failed ones, and their dynamic began to shift, zephyr taking care of her.

cruelty towards enslaved people all throughout his youth. the impression that he was less-than and worth less because of his heritage and skin tone.

coins, money, a pocketknife maybe, handkerchief, things he found on the street (like a feather or something. he's very curious, just suppressed.) he wishes he had something to remember his mother by, but memory will have to suffice.

overwhelming flies rising from the marshy ground, more suffocating than the hot sun. the yelling voices and the crack of a whip, the giant vats of stinking indigo dye being brewed. oppressive, dark, musty ships sailing from nova scotia to england. a mercy, but also damnation.
