It fit too well to not do that

your acc is really interesting after scrolling thru. tho i dont go here so i dont really know whats going on well. can u give like a summary of what happened with this Alex person? bc so far what i understand is a bunch of people are being horribly vindictive because dating then wasnt fun and are accusing them of fucked up stuff.
sorry if this is weird
Oh, no it's perfectly fine,
So basically, Alex Kister, 20, is a Youtuber known for his horror content, and during the last 1 or 2 years, he dated somebody named Ven. Ven and Alex's relationship didn't end up working out, and some time after they had broke up, Ven spoke to another person that Alex was then dating, named DB.
They started trying to manipulate DB into thinking that Alex was disingenuous or even predatory in his dating of them (Ven and DB are both older than Alex).
Ven went on to create a doc with DB, "calling out" Alex on his supposedly predatory behaviour, and Ven reached out to other people who had interacted with Alex as fans, telling them that he had actually been attempting to GROOM them, even though there was no evidence pointing to this.
That led to those people making docs of their own to "call out" Alex, numbering at around 8 docs.
Now, you may ask what these so-called "predatory grooming attempts" were, well...
It was literally just Alex questioning his gender identity.
Literally just that, and twitter fell for it SO hard, including the majority of the online horror community disavowing him, and most of his show's cast leaving.
It was just an attempt to paint a potentially transfem person as a sicko-pervert in order to defame and deplatform them.
Anyway, that's about the gist of it.
A few weeks ago there were tons of Tumblr posts saying like "Please think critically of claims against transfems accusing them of being predatory!!" But then the second someone made a Google Doc outing a transfem person and claiming she was using her "gender identity to prey on fans", everyone just went along with it.
Begging all of you to stop and analyze why you ever thought that shit was ok.
As much as Alex’s response was gracious and well written, I really do believe anyone who bothered to read through the original “callout” document could have come to most of these conclusions themselves. It’s a ridiculous laundry list of personal relationship grievances, outing a trans woman while claiming her identity is a lie and her presentation inherently fetishistic, and attempting to vilify and humiliate her by publicly exposing details of her sex life. With the exception of heavily venting to a 16 year old fan, which I do see as irresponsible and which Alex acknowledges and apologizes for in her response, there’s basically nothing in the document that merits outrage to begin with. It appears that Ven is at least 22 years old. That’s my age, and it makes this whole thing feel almost comical. 22 is old enough to be able to handle expressing your boundaries—yes, even in conversation with a person who has almost a million subscribers on youtube for their spooky horror videos, wow, what social power—especially when that person is clearly receptive and immediately pumps the brakes when you do bring those boundaries up.
I’ve been following the discussion surrounding this pretty closely for the last week or so, and am happy to see that plenty of other people have noted the rampant transmisogyny and general abuse of buzzwords to rile up the impressionable and bloodthirsty internet into trying to validate the Victim’s hurt feelings over their ex. It’s despicable. I wish the very best for Alex moving forward. Please at LEAST read the call out posts you are spreading with a critical eye, especially when those posts (as they often do!!) attempt to equate transfeminine identity with “perversion.” That should be an instant red flag.
