Upside Down - Archie Andrews x Reader

((GIF is not mine))
Pairing: Archie Andrews x Reader
Requested: Yes! By anon: ‘Archie 94′ #94 - You’re an idiot. I married an idiot.
From this list. Requests are still open, so send whatever you like - except Sweet Pea please, just because I’ve written him a lot recently and I still have more prompts for him.
Summary: You can’t figure out how to put your daughters dresser together.
Words: 597 - just a lil one
Warning: none
A/N: I already did this prompt for Sweet Pea so I tried to make it as different as possible, so I had the character say it instead of the reader. Also, I don’t know why I keep giving children names beginning with ‘A’, I can’t help it *shrugs*
My Masterlist
You sat on the floor, bits of a pink flat pack dresser surrounding you, a couple of them conjoined at odd angles. You scowled at the instruction booklet, damn things never made any sense, it might as well have been written in a foreign language.
“What are you doing, love?” Archie appeared in the doorway of your daughter’s bedroom, holding her sleeping form in his arms. He placed her in her cot before quietly padding over to where you sat scowling. He picked up a bit of badly joined dresser. “Erm… I don’t think this is right…” Archie spoke carefully, knowing that there were still left over baby hormones flowing through your body.
“This doesn’t make sense!” You cried, squinting your eyes at the instruction booklet, before angling it towards your husband, hoping he could make sense of the booklet.
Archie let out a small laugh. “Babe… you’ve got it upside down!” He quickly righted the booklet and a look of realisation flashed across your face.
“Damn baby brain!” You pouted and threw the booklet at Archie, hitting him in the chest with a pathetic flap.
“You’re an idiot!” Archie teased with a chuckle and started to right the pieces of dresser that you’d put together the wrong way. “I married an idiot.”
“It’s the baby hormones!” You protested and rolled a couple of screws back and forth across the carpet.
“I said I’d do this, babe.” Your husband pointed out, you’d never been great at putting things together before you’d had your daughter, but now you were hopeless.
Your baby girl, Ariella, had been born 2 months early and you had had to have the baby shower the day you got home from the hospital, as it had been scheduled for a month before your due date. So, Ariella’s room wasn’t completely finished. Archie had given Jughead the keys to your shared house when you’d gone into labour and him and Sweet Pea put the cot and changing table together for you, so you had the bare necessities that you needed when you got home but there were still a few things that needed doing.
“But you had a sleeping baby on you!” You pouted, your baby girl had been refusing to nap but the second Archie had rested her against his chest and started to sing to her, she’d fallen asleep straight away. “I thought I’d get it sorted so that we could put away everything from the baby shower!” You passed Archie some of the screws that he needed.
“Are you jealous?” Archie chuckled slightly as he screwed one of the drawers together.
“I’m her mommy, why won’t she sleep for me?” You whined and took the completed draw from Archie and set it aside. The drawer was a light pink, with a dark pink heart for a handle.
“I think she could just tell you were getting stressed out and it was stressing her out.” Your husband replied softly and handed you another completed draw.
Your face softened, you never did handle stress very well and you didn’t want to stress your baby girl out.
“Hey.” Archie’s soft tone caught your attention. “I might’ve married an idiot, but I also married an amazing woman, who is an amazing mommy.”
Your eyes brimmed with tears. “Thank you, Archie.” You gave your husband a weak smile and stood to watch over your daughter, light ginger tufts of hair protruding from her soft head, a content look on her face as she slept. You adjusted the light blanket over her tiny body. “I love you Ari.”
