ok i messed up the linear timeline a little the last time i posted abt the currently known spongebob timeline as noted by a fellow spongeblogger so heres a little revised version along with commentary on the multiple timeline theory

july 14th, 1986 (7-14-86) - spongebob’s birthday according to all IDs given to him and depicted throughout the series

may-august, 1999 - the flashbacks to camp coral (before krabs took over) shown in sponge on the run. spongebob is 12-13 years old and pearl should be born somewhere near the end of the year.

may-august, 2000 - kamp koral (after krabs took over) taking place a year after the flashbacks. spongebob is 13-14 years old and based on development pearl should be about 6-7 months old

2008-2009 - the patrick star show. squidina, pearl’s friend and the same age as her, is shown to be 9 years old. this puts the spinoff series 6 or 7 years prior to the original series and makes spongebob 23-24 years old.

2015 - the original series pilot, help wanted. pearl is 15 in the beginning of the series, with her 16th birthday fast approaching. and spongebob is 28-29 years old.

2017 - spongebob has been employee of the month 2 years in a row + 2000 years into the future is 4017. spongebob is 30-31 years old.

now lets get into spongebob multiple timeline theory - which theorizes that there are three major timelines based on three major installations of the franchise. originally i stated that i had no idea what could have caused such major splinters in the timeline, but as of kamp koral i believe i know what actually caused such huge splinters in the timeline.

kamp koral confirms the existence of at least two different timelines - ignoring all the time travel and alternate dimensions shown in the original series and the comics that would inherently imply the existence of a greater multiverse and more splintering timelines than possibly conceivable, or the existence of the timeline theory in general - with sandy explicitly stated to have meddled with the timeline to cause the split.

in the original timeline - as shown in the original series - sandy doesn’t meet spongebob until they’re both adults, somewhere between 2015 and 2017. but the adult sandy (sandy A) seeks to alter the timeline as she sees fit, causing a splinter in the timeline when she uses time travel to contact what used to be her past self (sandy B) to convince her to attend camp coral so that she can meet spongebob in 1999 as children. this creates the timeline seen in sponge on the run, which i believe may exist in the same timeline as sponge out of water

(and coincidentally, or not so coincidentally, sandy B’s meeting with spongebob takes place in the same year that the episode where sandy A originally met spongebob had aired in real life)
