One thing I still don’t get, although I fully recognize it could be a design choice, is that in the Keyblade Graveyard—

After Riku sacrifices himself and is overcome by the swarm of Heartless, the light source completely disappears.

Yet, when the swarm gets closer to Sora’s face?

Suddenly, there’s a light source that’s shining on his face. They could’ve easily gone with shadows to emphasize the literal mass of shadows about to consume him, but they chose to illuminate his face with purple?

It’s similar, though not as intense, to the light that casts over Riku’s face as a result of him splitting the Heartless swarm. But it’s not present when he first thrusts his Keyblade—

There’s not even a light reflecting off the blade at all.

I’m… not really sure what this means, or if it was intentional or not. What I do know is that Riku was holding his Keyblade up until the very end.

Just moments before, we see that Kairi wasn’t immediately swallowed by the swarm on impact, it actually carried her into the tornado of Heartless. (Which is terrifying…) Does that mean… that there’s a possibility that the Heartless pushed Riku back as they took him? And the light source was from him still using Braveheart to block the Heartless even when engulfed?

I would like to discuss this, if you have any thoughts. And like I said before, design choice and coincidences have been acknowledged, but do you believe it has more significance? (There’s a piece of me that wants to believe, but I’d like opinions).
