Hi all, sorry I guess I just wanted to say that I know Body Language was kinda short, and also sorry about the random POV switch. I read back through it and realized it wasn’t that *intense* which was the vibe I was going for. I’m not going to delete it but just wanted to say that future writing will be better Lol

FUCKING EXACTLY. I’m biologically female and can’t use tampons and it’s so uncomfortable now and was honestly terrifying when I was young and needed supplies and they only had like... huge tampons to offer. I hate that people who menstruate are shamed for what they do or don’t stop DEAD UTERAL LINING FROM LEAKING THROUGH THEIR PANTS. Like what the actual fuck society ?

also i literally do not care whether you prefer pads or tampons but the fact that in almost every situation where free period supplies are available, they’re tampons, and this is just assumed to be fine (or people like campaigning for “free tampons” rather than “free menstrual products”) upsets me bc there are a lot of people who use pads who cannot use tampons and i don’t understand why tampons are considered not just the default but the only option worth mentioning

- I can’t let him in, you call up me up and ask me how I’ve been, I call your bluff and keep on telling, telling, telling you lies -

“Hey... how have you been?” I heard Spencer’s voice ask. He sounded different.

“Fine, yeah,” I said, trying to sound distracted. Maybe if he thought I was distracted he’d think I’m over him. 

“That... that’s good. I just wanted to ask, day’s been... kind of boring,” he replied. We were both silent for a few long seconds.

“I don’t think that’s why you called me,” I blurted. I heard him take a breath. I’d normally get upset and emotional right about now, but I decided that I didn’t care. Not now.

- Danced in the desert in the pouring rain, drank with the devil and forgot my name, woke with somebody when the morning came. No one there to shame me for my youth... ‘cause I wouldn't be with you - 

“I’ve been doing everything I can, and it worked for awhile,” I said, “I went to out to Arizona to visit my sister and I got drunk and slept with someone I didn’t know. And I did it because you aren’t around to tell me what’s right for me anymore. You never even had that right and you somehow still managed to lose it.” I finished.

- And I’ll keep on telling, telling, telling you lies -

“And I’ve been doing fine without you,” I said. I realized I had repeated myself twice. “I’ve been doing fine.” I reiterated. Before he could say anything, hung up and threw the handheld house phone across the room. I was lucky it landed on a chair cushion.

“I’ve been doing fine,” I said, this time to myself.

- Count down to the day they may come true -

“I’ve been doing fine.”
