Here is the ghost boi 👻
do you have any tips on how to draw eyes? i dont even mean the irises or pupils but fucking shape of eye… they are the only reason i almost all the time draw people with censored eyes lol
I’m terrible at explaining things so I’ll just give some disjointed tips that most likely dont make sense! another long one btw!

One thing I’d suggest is getting to know what’s underneath the skin, even if it’s just a rudimentary understanding of it, it’s really handy. If you know what a skull looks like, and can draw the muscle on it and fat, then skin is just kinda like a sheet on top of it. So basically if you know anatomy, you can make sure that everything is in the right place and distort it in anyway you want.
You don’t need to draw the eyeball and eye muscles every time obviously but they’re good to just have in the back of your head.
Hate to be one of those people because people really hate this quote but “know the rules before you break them” is sound advice.
But if doing that is something you’re completely opposed to, I’d also recommend looking at sculpture! With humans it’s harder to look really in detail and understand everything, but with sculptures it’s easier to focus on individual attributes and assess the way they were made in my opinion. plus it’s fun!

Remember everything is 3d! The eyes don’t mold into the skin, they’re like a ball inside with a sheet of skin ontop of them. Your lids aren’t flat, they have dimension and mass, if you miss that out it’ll look creepy.
Your pupil doesn’t pertrude from your iris. It’s basically like a hole, so if you look at his from an angle, itll distort in shape and become thinner. It’s a tiny detail, but I find it just makes a difference.

I colour pupils kinda like I would for a dinner plate. The iris is the outer rim? thingy? I’m not big on plates sorry, and the pupil is the deeper part of it. I put the shading and the lighting in the same place that I would if I were drawing a dinner plate.

The general shape of the eyes and line work can be really effective! They might not be picture perfect, spitting image of whoever you’re drawing, but if you’re able to give off the same kinda mood the person does, then it feels accurate and the easiest way to do that I think it through the eyes (blah blah windows to the soul)
There’s tones of ways to do that but I just used this example of two opposites. One’s more round and soft, so it gives off a youthful, happy kinda vibe, and the other used sharper, straighter lines and gives off a more moody one.
The shape of eyes is just one of those things that changes with every style, so I can’t give you an exact perfect way to draw them, but if you have a more cartoon-ish, simplistic style don’t draw them in a way that’s too detailed or realistic and vice versa, it’ll stand out and look really creepy.
SO yeah! hope this maybe helped a little bit. I’ve never really sat down with the intention to learn to draw eyes so it’s difficult to give advice on it Q-Q And I’m no where near a professional, so I’m not using fancy lingo or technical stuff that makes everything easier to understand
