" allie beams, sitting up from where she's pressed into his side so she's a little farther away, and her fingers wander to take his in her own, fiddling with them. " why are you closed off on purpose? " she wonders out loud, continuing to fidget. " i love being, like, not closed! like, open, and stuff! people like that better, i think. "
