day three : how to stay organized

Staying organized might be the biggest pain in the ass but it feels very good and makes things ten times easier, especially as a high school sophomore I struggle to keep up with my work because I have everything scattered around, so here are the new habits i’m myself to respect.. it hopes that they work for someone else too <3

— Buy a cute notebook or calendar and decorate it with stickers, write down your assignment deadlines, holidays, tests, appointments and other important things in cute colors ( i use a pastel purple pen and a pink glitter one + pastel pink and purple highlighters ). Make it so cute that you want to open it everyday!

— This might be a bit hard for some people but do your assignments the day that they are given. i cannot stress this enough but you will feel so good when on the day that’s it’s due you’ll watch your classmates do the work in a rush knowing that you’ve already done it, and you did it well.

— Know your timetable and how you usually spend your time during the day ( for example : knowing that you get ready everyday at 5am so until around 6:30am you’re busy. )

— Work comes before pleasure. Please put your phone away and do your work, if you still have time left afterwards you can always scroll on TikTok AFTER doing your work.

— Have goals and be determined to achieve them / don’t forget to reward yourself. Write down your goals each week or even month and decide on how you’ll reward yourself, said reward will motivate you to work harder and stay organized in your work.

— Schedule your week on Sundays, while resetting on Sundays [see my post here] don’t forget to put all the important things in your notebook or calendar.

— Find the way YOU stay organized the best ; it it’s by having a calendar on notion, using a physical one ( i really recommend that ) or even just using the default one on your phone; do what makes you feel best and helps you!

— Clean your room everyday, don’t wait until it’s a complete mess or until someone forces you to do it. If you clean everyday you won’t allow mess to settle into your rom and you life. If you know where everything is at all time you’ll be able to operate way faster and easier around your room.

— Stay consistent. Write down every new homework that is given in class and don’t forget to check your calendar everyday to see if you forgot anything.

— Do the work that you don’t want to do or don’t like first so that it’s out of the way and you can have fun doing the fun work!

— Also keep your hobbies organized, as a reader I’m a very big fan of Goodreads because it keeps me SO organized!
