To say that yours and Yunjin's relationship was complicated was an understatement. You didn't hate each other, but spending time together was not your favorite activity, and as much as you tried to bond you just wouldn't hit off. Yunjin would constantly complain about your childish antics, and you would snicker about how boring she was.

You were currently rehearsing as a group for an award show presentation, while all of you were already exhausted your dance instructor had required you to stay after practice, arguing that you were struggling with your part of the choreography

Pushing through your tiredness and the ache in your body you waved your fellow members goodbye and started preparing for at least two more hours of practice

"Are you sure you can't come back to the dorms and rest?, I'm sure manager unnie wouldn't mind" your leader asked with sympathy

"I'm okay unnie, I'll just polish up the moves and go back, it won't take long" you replied with a reassuring tone

"Just be responsible and get home before it's too late, we don't need another repeat of this morning" yunjin snarled

"It was not my fault, I had homework to do" you scoffed annoyed, not expecting her to rub your morning mistake in your face

If you were being honest, it was your fault to have procastinated, leaving it all for the last day and rushing for the deadline, but you would never admit that, especially not to yunjin.

"Maybe if you weren't so-"

"Stop it yunjin" sakura intervened

You're not gonna lie, the constant remarks she made about your personality stung. When you first met her you were drawn to her big personality, but the constant comments made you withdraw, convincing yourself that she didn't really like you.

"It's okay kkura" you replied nodding slightly, surprising your fellow member due to the lack of a snarky comment or comeback.

"y/n/n are you sure you're fine?, you seem a little off" interjected chaewon

"hmm, just a little tired" you muttered in response, masking your tiredness

Although feeling skeptical she let you be and exited the room along the other members and a very confused sakura.

Back at the dorm the girls were waiting for you, Eunchae and Zuha had already fallen asleep, while the oldest awaited your arrival.

It was almost 1:00 am when yunjin got tired, you had a schedule in the morning and she did not want to run late, as they all did that morning because you had accidentally woken up late. She was set in going to the company and bringing you back even if it was against your will.

Back at the practice you were leaning against the mirror, your head was throbbing, your legs felt like jelly and sweat dripped down your neck. Lost in thought, you failed to listen the door of the practice room being open, yunjin's voice snapping you out of your daze

"do you know how late it is?, how can you be so careless, it almost 2:00 am, you're supposed to be waking up in less than 4 hours" she ranted in anger.

Her voice was muffled in your ears, failing to identify the source, out if instinct you could only think of it being from your manager, coming to scold you for almost falling asleep instead of practicing.

"I'm sorry manager-nim, I’m trying, I promise!” you said scarily while trying to stand up, failing to do so you stumbled backward and fell to the ground from the mental and physical exhaustion.

"Woah!, are you okay? It's yunjin" she said while crouching down to were you were in the floor

"Yunjin?" at the realization you almost wanted to cry, whimpering her name in a soft mumble

You didn't want to appear weak infront of her, but you couldn't help it, your whimpers turned into sobs, the bottled-up emotions spilling out for the first time.

Inmense guilt and worry flooded yunjin's body, voice turning softer, caressing your cheek in a feather-like motion. Maybe if she had been less stubborn and selfish she would have noticed you struggling, instead of constantly pointing out your mistakes.

"It's okay love, you have nothing to worry about, let's go home you need to rest" she reassured, the pet name rolling of her tongue subconsciously.

In a swift motion she embraced you, putting your head on her chest, not failing to notice the heat irradiating from your body. She cradled your frail figure while looking for her phone to call your manager.

Back at the dorm she carried you to her room, your arms around her neck. As she was slowly placing you on the bed she felt the grip around her neck tighten and your head nuzzling into her chest, a soft whimper leaving your troath.

Not wanting to disturb your sleep she laid on the bed and placed you above her, cradling you in her arms. She delivered soft touches along your forehead, rubbing your back in a soothing manner to lull you to sleep.

Once she made sure you were asleep she went to grab a thermometer and a glass of water.

With the help of sakura she took your temperature, frowning at the numbers displaced. She then placed a cool rag on your forehead and some pills in her nightstand.

She was caressing your cheek when she felt you move in her grasp. Sensing that you were already awake she was quick in her questions

"How are you feeling?"

"I feel like I was run over by a car" you muttered, your voice hoarse

"Do you wanna talk about it?" her haze becoming soft

"I'm sorry"

"What are you sorry about?"

"I'm sorry about not being good enough for this.”

“Where is this coming from? You are good enough. You’re more than enough!” Yunjin frowned in concern

"Don't lie, I'm not good enough for being an idol, I'm always lacking or staying behind, even you noticed I'm not fit for the job"

"Of course you're fit for the job, you’ve worked hard for it. I'm sorry about my constant attitude with you, I guess I was too worried about our manager possibly calling you out I failed to see I was hurting you" she hesitantly squeezed your hand

"You mean it?"

"Of course I do. Put that pretty little head of yours to rest, you deserve it" she said while standing up

"Don't go please" you whispered

With that she returned to your side.

You were certain that the insecurities you felt wouldn't dissipate so easily, but yunjin's words reassured you at least for the night, making you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Maybe she didn't really hate you.

Both of you felt asleep hoping to become a little closer after that night.
