AUTHOR’S NOTE: Ok. This has to be one of the largest one shots I’ve ever done. This is inspired by the song The Devil is a Woman by Bishop Gun, for the Halfway 2K event of @runnning-outof-time . I think I might get a little bit out of the lyrics of the song…maybe (Special thanks to @notyour-valentine for helping me with the last details)

”That girl is trouble” Arthur said as he pointed his cigarette at the girl dressed in white sitting at the bar as his brothers looked in her direction, she had an innocent aura, she smiled coquettishly at a boy who had surely bought her a drink so he could talk to her and secure his place as her companion for the rest of the night “It is rumored that she is behind the suicide of that guy who was found a couple of days ago hanging near the river.”

Tommy took what was left of his glass before looking at his brother “They are only rumors Arthur”

”Do you even know who she is?” he exclaimed in a more exasperated tone. “She is the daughter of Colonel Edwards”

The Edwards were a family decorated by the crown for their services in the war. They lived in the wealthier part of London. So far away from the filthy streets of Small Heath

“Less than two years ago, they were involved in the death of a man who also ended up hanging by his own hand, soon before sending their only daughter far away to dispel the rumors, that’s rather suspicious”

John looked at his brother with a raised eyebrow, "How do you know all that?"

"People talk brother"

"That doesn't mean everything they say is true," Tommy added. Knowing that his brother would spend his time talking about gossip and rumors like an old lady, he would have stayed working in his office. He had better things to do.

"Speaking of the devil," John whispered, announcing the presence of the girl approaching them. Apparently leaving her companion behind.

She stopped standing in front of them, while she smiled slightly "Good afternoon guys” her eyes fell directly on Tommy “Can I speak with you Mr. Shelby? In private?"

With his serious face, he looked into her eyes. Apparently she wasn't intimidated by him. She kept her smile while holding her gaze "Are you a whore?"

It was nothing out of the ordinary for women to come up to him and offer him a good time.

Her smile disappeared and her gaze turned like the fire that intended to burn him, more stronger than the shots of whiskey he used to drink. “Because if you are not you’re in the wrong place”

"I'm here to talk about business" she said leaving aside that friendly sideways attitude she showed a few moments ago. "Not every woman who comes up to you wants to suck your dick, you know?"

John and Arthur just stared at the scene before them silently. Nobody expected that answer, a common girl would have been embarrassed, would have blushed and then left without saying anything about it.

No one dared talk to Tommy like that, no one. Either she was very foolish or very brave.

"I'll come talk to you in your office tomorrow morning, I think I have something that might interest you" and without waiting for an answer, she left the place.

And just as she said, she showed up at his office early in the morning. Her gaze remained like a burning and living flame that had not been extinguished since yesterday. Well, she wouldn't look at him kindly after he had called her a whore.

It was a bit disconcerting how her appearance deterred her attitude. She was wearing a pastel pink dress, and had round doll-like eyes like the baby dolls that his sister Ada wanted when she was a child.

A doll talking about business with a gangster, what a funny and ironic game.

“For a price my father will get your enemies out of the way”

Tommy just listened to her and watched intently. His father could be a very powerful ally or threatening enemy. Apparently he had interests in his business. It was not surprising that high-ranking people were involved in illegal actions for money purposes.

“He might even get rid of Campbell and the people involved in the case.”

“And what does the colonel ask for in return?”

“Thirty percent of the proceeds from the stolen guns”

Tommy chuckles while exhaling the smoke of his cigarette. “Then there is no deal Miss Edwards”

She just looked at him silently for a few moments with thoughtful eyes. “Alright then, I think it's something that can still be negotiable” she got up from her seat “I'll talk to my father and I'll come later then”

Before she could turn around and leave, Tommy spoke again. “Why doesn't he himself come to negotiate instead of-“

”Instead of his whore daughter?” she blurted out in a dry but sarcastic way.

Apparently she didn't let go of how he had addressed her the day before at the pub.

Tommy sighed “I didn’t mean that”

“Yesterday you didn't say that about me Mr. Shelby” It was time to end this meeting, she didn't want to get an empty apology from him. “It's time for me to go now. I'll talk to my father and then I'll meet with you again. I know you would prefer to speak face to face with him, but you will understand that he cannot let them see him with you for the moment until he feels that you are a trustworthy man.”

She headed for the door to leave at once.

“Are you free tonight?”

She was already about to turn the doorknob to get out of his office

“Why do you ask?” She was suspicious of the reason for this unexpected question but she still wanted to hear him say it.

His aura of confidence was still standing, which connoted that he didn't care in the least bit about answering.

“Would you mind if I invite you to dinner?”

He didn't know what he had just gotten himself into.

5 months later

Y/n visited his parents from time to time. Once a month to be more precise. She still wasn't coming back home, after all her name was still being entwined with the suicide of Edward Johnson, the son of general Oscar Johnson.

Father and son participated in the war, and it was expected that they would experience the same effects as the rest of the men who fought against the Germans in the most infamous war that has been seen so far. Nightmares, insomnia, depression and suicidal thoughts were some of the effects caused by this traumatic event.

But despite that, he looked like a man in the prime of his life despite everything that happened. Therefore, it was totally unpredictable to find his lifeless body hanging by his neck with his sheets from the window of his room, not a note, not a last message. A truly scandalous event. Many attributed this act to the trauma generated by the war, after all it was not uncommon for former soldiers to take their own lives after witnessing the massacre that caused the death of many innocent men.

But many others got suspicious about the lovely girl that used to hang at his arm while she smiled at him warmly. Just giving him a piece of her love and affection that he couldn’t really have. She took the broken pieces of a lost and sad man to put them together and just for fun she broke him again, making it ashes and with nothing to repair to form even half of the man that was left. But of course, people could just spout words into the air without any proof, but sometimes some rumors could turn out to be true.

The Edwards were having tea in the living room, it was early fall so it was cold enough to be in the garden “Looks like there was another incident around Small Heath a few months ago,” Colonel Edwards said, emphasizing the pronunciation of incident. It was clear where he wanted to go. “A man hanged himself near the river”

“What do you want to get at with this?” Mrs. Edwards asked. If she didn't, her husband was capable of spinning the whole thing with hints for the rest of the day. This time Mr. Edwards addressed his daughter directly, who was sitting across from them both. “Did you know that man Y/n?”

She seemed unfazed by the question, as if he had only asked her if she wanted the last piece of the pie instead of directly accusing her about the death of a poor factory worker. "Would it change anything if it were?" she lifted her cup to her lips to absorb the tea. That seemed to be more interesting than that question.

Her mother was the one who addressed her this time "Did he leave any note or farewell letter?" Having taken a sip of the tea that was starting to get cold, she finally looked up at her mother. "He didn't leave anything, everyone believes it was a forced suicide, it's not uncommon for people to die in that place every day," she said firmly. Y/n already wanted to forget that topic. Low-class trash that no one would remember was not worth giving importance or attention to.

His father seemed satisfied with her answer. "Good, we don't want it to happen like last time"

"I'm only staying here for three days, you don't need to call" Y/n said as she looked around to make sure prying ears didn't hear who she was talking to.

A serious voice answered on the other end of the line "You didn't call me" there was a brief pause, she assumed that he was expelling the smoke of his cigarette. “You said you would call when you arrived”

"I didn't see it necessary" a lopsided smile formed on her rosy lips "the great Thomas Shelby has important things to do after all"

"I took the day off, so today you are the only matter of importance that I have to attend to."

She laughed lightly "Oh incredible, I am of great importance to the great king of Small Heath, I am flattered."

Despite not having him in front of her, she could visualize his smile generated by her sarcastic comment. "Have I ever made you feel otherwise?"

She let out a small laugh "Of course not, you know that"

It was already night, Y/n and her mother were in the living room by the fireplace while they read. It was already a habit between the two, after dinner they both spent time together before going to sleep while her father spent time in his office.

"You spoke to a man on the phone earlier in the afternoon, didn't you?" Her mother asked, breaking the silence in the room.

"Why do you ask if you already know the answer mother"

She scoffed “I can tell you like him” Y/n lowered her book and looked at her mother with a raised eyebrow. “And he likes you too”

If only she knew that man was smitten, no, enamored with her daughter.

“I doubt that,” she answered. “He is one of the men my dad is getting involved”

The older woman just nodded her head “I see” she closed the magazine she was reading a moment ago “His name is Thomas Shelby isn’t it?”

Y/n looked at her with a surprised face “You were listening” she claimed.

“Just enough darling, his name is getting known all over Birmingham” she turned her gaze to see the burning flame in the fireplace. ”He will go far, I tell you. From what I heard is that he is an ambitious man that will do anything to have what he wants” she returned her knowing gaze to her daughter “Don't get involved with this one”

Y/n gave her a quizzical look “Not this one uh?” She closed his book and put it on the small table next to it.

The woman sighed “You are engaged remember that”

“Dad didn’t mention any of it so far” talking about her engagement wasn’t something that she looked forward to.

“He will soon,” her mother responded. “Just because he sent you away temporarily doesn't mean your marriage plans are no longer in place.” she looked at the unpleasant face of her daughter to sigh again.

"Fuck, Tommy," Y/n moaned, threading her fingers through his hair and guiding his head against her pussy as she grind her hips against his mouth. "Right there." She pants, whimpering quietly when his tongue settles on her clit, rubbing relentlessly. "Just like that,"

But then almost as fast as her release approached he pulled away, standing abruptly.

“Dad, I never thought you would call so soon” She had a vague idea why her father had called her only a few weeks after her brief visit. He no longer used to call her as an intermediary for his business. Now he was talking directly to Thomas, so he didn’t need her anymore for that.

“Henry Coventry will arrive in England the next monday” She froze in her place. Y/n didn't know what to say. “It's time for you to return home” He said it without further ado.

He wasn't supposed to arrive after half a year of his trip. Why now?

Henry Coventry, the first male child of the noble Coventry family. The Edwards and the Coventry were always united families. They promised that one day they would get together as one, to assert the surname Edwards to the nobility and the Coventrys to ensure allies in the military. Before being able to consummate this union the young nobleman undertook a trip of several years around different countries. Thanks to that Y/n made her commitment almost nonexistent. For this reason she never took the men who approached him seriously. They were only a temporary distraction for her. She deluded them, making them believe that her heart belonged to them, only to snatch that ilusion in the worst way.

Now this news was a blow to the reality that had crashed deeply in her guts.

This would not end like this. She will not allow it. Her only way out was to get rid of her fiance.

“Give me some time. There are some issues that I must attend to before returning.” she said, trying to sound as firm as possible.

“Alright then” There was a brief silent pause. “It would be best if both of you lived together before the wedding.”

A small lamp gives light to the dark room. Just enough, not too much, to make the pair of lovers hugging naked in bed exposed to the night. The faint light touched her back and part of her arm until it reached her hand placed on his chest. She could feel his beats. He was calm, for now.

Her soft voice shake his being when the calm silence of the night breaks with the least expected words

“I'm gonna get married”

Y/n could feel his heart begin to beat strongly. She was waiting for him to get angry, to demand an explanation in a furius way, but he only stayed still without pronouncing any word.

She passed her fingers through his skin before looking up at him. His eyes had an indescribable look.

“I will come back to London” she whispered “My fiance is waiting for me”

“This is how you do it isn´t it?” His eyes remained perched on hers. “You make them believe that you love them and then feed on their pain just for your pleasure”

She carefully placed her chin on the back of her hand without taking her eyes off him as well

“This engagement wasn't my decision” She expected that at any time he would push her abruptly, but it did not happen. She brought her face to his slightly, until their lips were about to touch. “I always belonged to him”

She began to give him small kisses

“I never belonged to you, I never belonged to myself either.” she said between their lips “I belonged to that man since the beginning.”

He began to correspond to her kisses, being intoxicated by her.

”I don’t want him” she panted in his mouth almost like a plea “I want you” their noses touched “I want to be yours” she made a trail of kisses from his mouth to his chest, stopping at his heart, laying her cheek on him and looking up once again with her enchanting dolly eyes “While he exists I will belong to him”

After making love all night Y/n left Birmingham as if nothing had happened. It was all part of their plan after all. Although Tommy let her go, they would soon be together again.

As her father told her, she moved to one of the properties that belonged to the Coventrys with the man that was supposed to be her future husband.

He was a total gentleman. Very attentive and kind with her, so much that perhaps it gave her a little shame with what would happen with him. Just a little.

The wedding date was already established. It will be in summer, within six months. That gives them enough time to make the execution without any inconvenience.

Or that's what they thought.

After three months Y/n realized that she was pregnant.

“Tommy, it’s me, can you hear me?” She took advantage when Henry left in the afternoon to visit his family to call him without the risk of being heard.

“Yes, I can hear you” hearing her voice makes him feel calm.

She sighed while rocking back and forth her feet “Things turn out to be more complicated that we thought”

The plan was carefully thought to not raise suspicions, so having time was key, but apparently not everything would turn out as expected. “I’m pregnant” she was twirling around the fabric of her imported dress. A gift from her fiance, a purple silk dress.

This changed everything. This changed absolutely everything.Tommy tried to keep his composure to think of the best solution. Now things could go wrong if they get caught.

“We're going to have to rush things up” he pondered, unable to stop the rush of possibilities and chances they still got.

“I can't stand being in here without you Tommy” she complained “I need you” Y/n tried to sound as convincing as possible.

“I need you too” he responded “Be patient, soon it will just us, just us love, think about it”

“Fuck, I don´t want to wait” she whined.

“It will be soon okay?” he responded “I promise…I love you”

She smiled “I love you too”

Pizza?

Request: Request: Jason and is gf have dick and Roy over to discuss some very serious talk about their next mission and intend to be very very focused. Somehow they went completely off track where someone’s ordered 5 pizzas (everyone was fighting over which to get) and lots of garlic bread, dick and jays gf were having a dirty dance just dance dance off and all 4 of them just doing weird shit and just being a laughing mess. Bruce calls them a few hours later for an update and they’re like “oh shit”.

“One Thirty. Time to start our meeting.” Dick announces in the small apartment.

It’s you and Jason’s apartment and meeting hall for right now. Dick, Jason, Roy, and Barbra are over to talk about the next mission. The 4 of them infiltrate someone while you sit on comms and handle hacking and monitoring security systems.

At first the talk is serious. Then Roy brakes out your alcohol.

“No, this is a serious meeting.” Barbra states.

“One beer never hurt Babs. Come one. Guys?” Roy pleads.

Dick and Jason happily accept.

“Well… I guess one wont hurt.” You contest and take one.

Barbra sighs and accepts the beer Roy hands her.

Soon the beer is replaced with harder alcohols. Shots start pouring and don’t seem to want to stop. You and Brabra turn on some music and start dancing around the living room together. The boys appreciate this.

“Who wants pizza?” Jason calls out after half an hour.

“Pineapple pizza!” Dick shouts. This is followed by universal groans.

“Not again.” Barbra then speaks up. “No pineapple. Anything but pineapple. Like ham.”

“No way! Pepperoni. It’s a classic.” Roy demands.

“More like over bought. Cheese steak pizza is better.” You argue.

“Or barbecue chicken?” Jason asks.

Multiple fake gaging sounds erupt.

“Fine. All of them.” Jason huffs then grabs his phone.

After an hour theres pizza and drinks and no actual plan formed.

That’s when Bruce calls.

“Oh. Shit.” Jason shouts.

Everyone freezes.

“What’s the plan?!” Dick yells.
