Killua and Alluka and Nanika
The reason Killua knows the rules for how Alluka and Nanika works?
He asked her. That’s it.
“I asked for her to tell me how to turn her eyes back.”
Killua asked her, and he listened to her, and he respected her rules about herself.
(Hint hint hint if the gender identity connection wasn’t clear enough by now.)
That’s all. He’s the only one to ever talk directly to her, and ask.
HUNTER × HUNTER || Killua & Canary
tbh i feel like we’re beating a dead horse when it comes to tragedy and heartbreak and Killua.
He is not some sad, broken, horrifically tragic character that you can [INSERT SELF HERE] and pull this angsty bullshit out of.
Yes, Killua was trained from birth to be an assassin.
The Zoldycks are assassins. His family was the top most wanted and most wanted dead by all the descendants (family, mob members, etc.) of the people they’d been paid to assassinate over a countless number of years. Imagine if they hadn’t, at the very least, trained their children to withstand any misfortunate outcomes they would’ve encountered if they were to become abducted and used as hostages. Because that possibility was a sincere reality.
Let me say this again: the Zoldycks are assassins. They do not “beat” their children because they do not love them…they do not hurt their children because they are heartless monsters who take their rage and pain out on them.
And in their own sick, twisted way – in a way we cannot relate to – the Zoldycks actually love Killua. Yes, Silva was a manipulative asshole who essentially only wanted Killua to come back and be the heir – but still, he loves Killua. We think it’s wrong and we do not understand it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. The Zoldycks love each other in the only way they know how.
They’re not a heartless, uncaring family. Yes, their ways of raising their children are different, unique and it’s fucked up, but those are their ways. This is what they believe in. The Zoldycks truly believe their methods are in their children’s best interest.
They’re assassins!
And despite how fucked up it is, Killua took the best out of his abuse and turned it into something he could actually use to his advantage. Somebody trying to poison him? Nope, not fucking happening. Somebody trying to electrocute him? Nope, not fucking happening. A mother fucking serial killer trying to break his bones? Nope, not fucking happening.
Oh look, he just ripped their heart out.
He got electrocuted as a kid? Aight, now lets watch him turn his aura into fucking electricity and kill these dickheads and take names.
Again, Killua makes the best out of his abuse. He is resilient. He owns it. And no, of course he’s not thankful for it. But he embraces it, he makes himself stronger because of it.
So why don’t we talk about that?
“Why do I like Killua so much? Because although he was abused, bro moved forward and came out on top.”
“Why is he my favorite character? Because he’s a god damn inspiration and the White Haired Kid Who Actually Lived.”
