December 21, 13 days after the death of Razzle. The Dingleys who were waiting for the Christmas card from their son received only his embalmed body, a certificate for cremation and a death certificate with an autopsy report: “multiple injuries as a result of brute force, severe injuries at the top of the chest, two deep wounds on the head, superficial wounds on the body, and broken ribs on both sides, traumatic brain injuries incompatible with life. That’s all which remained of cheerfull life-loved drummer. Mike Monroe: Our tour manager went to identify the body. He said Razzle looked terrible. When we went to see Razzle after for the last time, his body had already been prepared. His face looked like wax. Irene Dingley: When Nick’s body arrived on the island, I couldn’t look at my boy. Henry said it was a beautiful dead face. Timo Caltio: Razzle’s funeral was held on the Isle of Wight. All of HR was there except Andy. He tried to get to the scene but missed the train. It was a beautiful, old English church. As the funeral was about to begin, there was a rumble of motorcycles approaching. Razzle’s biker friends stepped into the church. They did not sit down but stood at the back of the church and took off their helmets. Hug Lewis: I was sitting in a church right behind the HR members. I heard Michael Monroe sobbing throughout the blessing, and it felt very traumatic. So, on this bright sunny day relatives, friends and fans said goodbye to Nicholas Charles Dingley, the same sunny and bright person.His untimely death shocked many people of all ages, and even 36 years later it remains an indelible wound in the hearts of all people who knew and loved him. Razzle’s body was cremated, and the ashes in a small wooden coffin with gilded letters were buried under a nameplate at one of the oldest cemeteries of Isle of Wight. Razzle’s adoptive parents died long ago, but his grave did not remain forgotten: at the cemetery you can see the people quietly remembering their friend and idol. And although his earthly years ended too early, this guy managed to ensure eternal life for himself: in our memory, thoughts, creativity and just in every kind word. Thank you, Razz.
