So I was rereading the golden brother fic for like the 272727 time and I re read that scene in “Nino Lobo & Palisman” where it said if hunter was a wolf his tail would be wagging out of joy and like

I just imagined grimwalker beast hunter wagging his tail out if excitement 😭🫶

Fullmetal Alchemist Chapter 1

I'm going to keep an eye on how the world expands in this reread. In particular, I want to see a map. We're starting in a town and we're told there's a military and the term "State Alchemist" got thrown around a bit with no explanation. There's a religion for a sun god named Leto, and for a new reader, this god might seem relevant to the larger story.

Icarus is mentioned meaning Greek mythology exists in this world.

The first chapter quickly establishes the basic ideas of Alchemy in this world and what kind of person Ed is. He comes across as an arrogant prick. And him becoming a State Alchemist at 12 is mentioned in passing.

Maybe it's because his automail limbs are common knowledge, but the reveal isn't as wild as Al being a living suit of armor, especially after the hype-up about them trespassing in god's domain.

Also, Ed's being agnostic and all his talking down on god are pretty wild when you consider he actually met god. The boy's absolutely petty.

"For that matter, the elements found in a human being is all junk that you can buy in any market with a child's allowance." Gee, I wonder how Ed knows that?

This is my favorite shot of the chapter. The author wants you to see Ed's left leg, the one he lost for going too close to god.
