"It's a state in the northeast of the United States. I take it you don't mean Nevada the state if you don't know where Vermont is." What she says is probably true unless he learned about different things in school than she did. But she doesn't want to assume that he's uneducated and offend him.

She signals at the dogs to walk in front of them, having them act as guard dogs in case anyone were to try to do either of them any harm. "If you need to stop and rest at any point let me know, okay?"

Jade begins heading towards the bus bench. "I told you my name but you never told me yours." She makes the statement aloud but doesn't say anything else about it. It's up to him if he wants to share his name or not.

Her mind does drift a little to when she was in a similar situation to this where she wished someone had come found her after Lillith had attacked her. Instead, she had been left face down on the concrete, with three large gashes across her back and left to bleed out. A single bark from Galen brings her focus back to the present.

Jade swears quietly under her breath. "Okay." She knows she shouldn't move him without first figuring out what's broken. She knows it has to at least be something internal if he's coughing up blood. She has personal experience with internal injuries and knows that laying on them certainly doesn't help either.

"Let's at least get you off the ground for now and we can go from there. I'm pretty sure you broke a rib since you're coughing up blood." She moves closer to him in order to help him get up. "Do you think you can at least put your arm over my shoulders and then lean on me? I'll be able to take your weight and still help you get up. I'm stronger than I look."

"That's good!"

She watches as his face turns red as well and finally something clicks into place in her mind.

"Um.. DJ... How hot exactly.. is the water??"

She had quietly begun to swim up behind him when he got out of the pool. Once again, seeing all his scars made her want to ask about them but she wasn't going to pry.

He hasn't asked about either of her scars, and he had plenty of options to. So she was going to give him the same courtesy.

"Do you think the water is any warmer over there? How big exactly is this place anyway??"

Her gaze is once again drawn back to his body and this time she follows the scar on he's back with her eyes. She wants to ask him what happened but she also doesn't want to pry if he would rather not talk about it.
