I Think People Would Love Mike More If The Movie Gave Him ANY Of His Original Storyline.

I think people would love Mike more if the movie gave him… ANY of his original storyline.

Book-Mike is fan-FUCKING-tastic. He dealt with IT for the first half of the book ALL ON HIS OWN. HE FOUGHT A GIANT BIRD MONSTER ALL BY HIMSELF– AND WON, making him the first of the Losers club to physically harm IT ((Bill and Richie later manage to hurt it but they were together)). He had such a good relationship with his parents. His PARENTS were interesting and had quite a history themselves. His tracking down Eddie Corcorin’s death much the same way as Beverly later tracks down Patrick Hockstetter’s.

And don’t get me started on his history with Henry. That shit was BRUTAL. Henry hated Mike because Henry’s dad hated Mike’s dad– because they were successful (black) farmers while he, Butch, was a poverty-stricken (white) farmer. To make his father proud, Henry racially bullied Mike all their childhoods, including killing his dog and attempting to kill HIM with large firecrackers. So it makes it all the more meaningful when, during their final battle as adults, Mike STILL offers Henry mercy. He STILL tries to give him an out– because Mike is a kind, brave soul.

How he’s the only one of his friends to stay in Derry, becoming a notable figure in the town to learn everything he can. Keeping in regular contact with cops  The ONLY one who remembers. Growing more scared and paranoid every day but REFUSING to give up hope. Interviewing all the old-timers and keeping a record-book so he can learn all he can about IT. And he does this all alone, keeping track of his friends as they grow wealthy and successful and can’t even remember him anymore. Can you even imagine how lonely he must have been? The only man left in the world who knows what IT is and what IT does, knowing someday IT will come back… for him.

There’s so many little touches to his character. The way he and Richie are the only ones who stay in the smoke-pit and nearly die during their hallucination of ITs origins– running hand-in-hand through prehistoric times together in fear. The way he holds Beverly during their first confrontation in ITs lair. Buying cards for Bill to stick in the spokes of his bike. The way he physically puts his body on top of Eddie’s to protect him from the bird-monster.

And in the end, after nearly bleeding to death, how he knows they’re all starting to forget each other again. His heartwrenching final scene with Bill– “He did something rather lovely; he kissed my cheek.” His phone call with Richie– “You know what’s funny? I didn’t… remember who you were…”

His final monologue about how even if they can’t remember each other in waking hours, how he thinks they’ll still remember each other in dreams.

I loved you all. I loved you so much.

Basically, FUCK YEAH MIKE HANLON.

Kings and Queens

Summary: Bethany Sullivan might uphold her nice girl status pretty well, but also she can’t keep that queen bee crown with just sugar. Billy Hargrove learns this the hard way. Or, alternatively, the one where Beth puts Billy back in his place.

Kings And Queens

Steve Harrington x oc, Billy Hargrove x oc (one-

sided)

warnings: not smut but there are a lot of sexual innuendos and overtones

a/n: this one’s for you, Fiona.

The first thing Billy Hargrove noticed when he moved to Hawkins, Indiana was the utter lack of excitement in the tiny town. There wasn’t a beach in sight and the town had only one mall. He thought he might die of sheer boredom. Hell, that sounded better than suffering another second in this Cow Shit Town.

All In - Steve Harrington x Reader

Hey guys, this is a reader request for Steve Harrington x Reader and the request is as follows: “reader x steve. he’s having a pool party and it’s insane and you’re uncomfortable in your bathing suit bc it’s v revealing and he makes you feel more comfortable ;)” This gets a-real smutty, so as always with my smutty shit, 18+ only!  Pairings: Steve Harrington x Reader Rating:  Explicit (18+ only) Warnings: Drinking, swearing, smut, unprotected sex        After the havoc that Tina’s Halloween party had wrought on her parent’s house, she was forbidden from throwing the Hawkins High graduating class of 1985 their farewell party. That caused everyone to turn their attention to the former King of Hawkins High and his big house with its big pool. Steve’s fading star could go out with a bang if he took up the task of host. He wasn’t looking to fade into obscurity just yet, so he agreed to throw the final bash.       His parents were out of town anyway, missing him walk across the stage. Something he could use as leverage when they assessed the inevitable damage soon to come. Plus, Joyce Byers, Jim Hopper, and a rag-tag group of teens had come to see him graduate instead. They were better than family, they were the family he got to choose. And tonight, while his parents failed to remember to call, he could sweat bullets, hoping to God that his new father figure wouldn’t be beating down the door and arresting him for noise, booze, and whatever other fresh teenage hell that might materialize.
