The misnamed Jewish Voice for Peace chapter at the University of Michigan posts pro-Hezbollah and pro-terrorist messages on its Instagram page. The worst one that I saw today was this one, reposted from an account called @disorientalizing - calling for the complete destruction of Israel.

I wonder if there are actually any Jews who belong to this JVP chapter. I guess I can understand anti-Zionism intellectually, but calling for the whole country to be burned to the ground - how could Jews wish this for other Jews in Israel? Or am I simply too naive to understand this?

What do mean you think the hurricane is funny? Videos on videos of leftists saying they don’t care about the people dying because it’s in the south and Midwest, and “those are bad, racist people”.

At the same time, they chant free Palestine. But wait, don’t Palestinians throw gay people off buildings? Yes, they do. But we can’t judge them for that! Just because they hate gay people, Jews, women, western people, etc. doesn’t mean they should die!!

They do the same thing with conservatives in general. “Trump and anyone who votes for him should die because he hates gays!” Ummmm…..then why do you chant “queers for Palestine”?? And when we point out what happens to gays in Palestine you say that doesn’t mean we should kill them? But weren’t you literally cheering on the assassination attempt and laughing at the people who did die…?

It’s hilarious that in leftist circles it’s a totally valid talking point to say that people shouldn’t wish death upon and/or villainize (southerners/americans/etc) because they don’t control what their government(s) do and often disagree with what’s going on…

…but when you say- “hey guys, maybe you shouldn’t be bigoted and hateful towards Israelis and/or Jews for the actions of the Israeli government, they have no control over what’s going on and probably disagree with it” -suddenly you’re a terrible person who supports baby murder and genocide, and you should off yourself because that totally helps Palestine and definitely doesn’t make y’all “pro-Palestine activists” seem fucking insane.

Ah, I think I figured out why I dislike DNIs conceptually so much: they're attempts to set boundaries but are actually the complete opposite of how boundaries are supposed to work. A boundary is not a demand you make of someone else (which is what a DNI is) but instead an action you take against someone else's behavior. In this case, setting a boundary would be blocking people who violate the DNI criteria, not making a statement about how they shouldn't follow you. Making a DNI is requesting a courtesy from other people, but it is not establishing a boundary.
