yep!! i feel v strongly abt this tbh. and i’m saying this as someone who entered the scene at 18. while there are many amazing people here, there are just as many who are gross and predatory. at 18, you’re still so young. i’ve seen it firsthand after working with hundreds of freshly 18-year-olds each semester for my job. i don’t care if anyone agrees or not; i will die on this hill. i was a v different person at that age, and i consider myself lucky that i didn’t end up in dangerous situations. would i change my experience? no, because it has shaped who i am and led me to meet incredible people who ive built meaningful connections with. but i still don’t think people should encourage new adults to participate in something they do not fully understand yet. i’ve been in this scene for fourish almost five years now, and i’m still learning every day. it’s so so soooo important to recognize the complexities and potential consequences that are involved not just with engaging in sex work but simply posting your body online for fun. young adults need guidance and support, not pressure from faceless “doms” or predatory weirdos to engage in something they might not fully grasp yet!

and the whole “i mean they are adults” argument is such a weird take. someone doesn’t just gain loads of knowledge and experience the second they turn 18; they are the same person they were at 17. just because they’re legal doesn’t make it less weird.
