who wants entire paragraphs of crowbar analysis, that's a rhetorical question you get no choice
its stated during his introduction in act 6 that crowbar doesn't have any innate abilities, other than being "pretty smart", but then in the inaugural death of mr seven the entire comic is being narrated through and by crowbar, as in he's literally consciously narrating it which is proved in his interaction with scratch, where he interrupts scratch's momentary narration and subsequently converses with him through it, and this is all acknowledged to be actually happening on a storytelling plane above narrated action ("You ain't even talking out loud here. This is just a bit of hard boiled, no-nonsense narrative introspection. You're pretty sure it ain't even real in any meaningful respect.")
homestuck is, above a lot of things, a story about storymaking and storytelling, with its main endgame villain being an author continuously projecting himself into the narrative through the meta aspects of the very story he was creating/latching on, if you consider the felt as another extension of his tools to mold the narrative (although a very loose and ungoverned one in contrast with the others) then I think it suddenly becomes very evident why caliborn was so uncharacteristically charitable and quick to flip his opinion on him and declare him as his favorite minion at that point
with all this I think you can make the distinction of crowbar by himself=passive interaction with the text(not able to change/oppose it) The crowbar itself=active interaction with the text(literal breaking of plot devices and subsequently wielded by people that aim to interact with it that way)
