Former child prodigy, current 20 year old struggling to stay on top of his nonexistent mental health. Sojiro is a private investigator and attempted forensic pathologist, as guided by his mother Mitsuki. He mirrors her more than he realizes—Sojiro often comes off as cold or too work-focused for others’ tastes. When he’s not stuck in his head, Sojiro is actually quite sweet.

Dante works at the library, sorting books and hosting storytimes for kids. They’re the one you can go to for information about any topic or even just to gossip—they’re all ears! However, Dante’s a bit private about his own life. Not that most of his friends ask much about it…

Also, as a little bonus, here's some neat worldbuilding information!! The story takes place in 2006 in a town along the east coast of Japan. The internet exists, but isn't a big focus or readily available to everyone in the main cast. For example, Naomi is much more tech savvy (with cameras, printers, Word, and the like) whereas Sojiro doesn't own a personal phone.

Naomi is the main person behind Asobi’s newspaper. She writes, takes photographs, plans the layout, and puts the printed version out at the library and schools. Her journalism is… less than ethical and more akin to clickbait at times. Naomi tends to come off a bit rude or annoying in her writing and speech, but she’s ultimately harmless. Pavani and Jae-yoon in particular put her in the place if she goes overboard.
