This is one of those that I don't care if no one likes it, or if there are obvious mistakes/things that don't make sense, I'm proud of myself for managing to do it traditionally and that's that. It's for no one but me, I'm just sharing it with you :)

I started it in 2021, even began to paint it, but burnout is a bitch and I couldn't finish it then. Recently I decided to see if I could complete it traditionally and this is the result! It was inspired by a screenshot I took where Bayek's face is entirely in shadow. I then added elements that relate to Ma'at, the goddess of truth and justice, and the ceremony of the Weighing of the Heart, where she'd weigh a dead person's heart against her ostrich feather, to see if they were worthy of going on to the Field of Reeds (a sort of paradise). (Egyptologists don't @ me 😭)

there is no security in the work within game development. My dad would tell me 'just work hard, be essential and earn your place' but that isn't how it is anymore. You could be the best, most amazing artist, as so many of my friends who were laid off were, and it doesn't matter. They will get rid of you just as easily. I don't even know what to feel anymore, but as someone who had been laid off in the past, I cannot convey how devastating it is to have your life uprooted just like that.

listened to an interview with Karlach's VA and they said that Karlach's like an almagation of Aphrodite and Ares and I cannot stop thinking about it. like. she is adored by everyone because she has so, so much love to give, sees so much beauty in the world and wishes to preserve it, but the war she was dragged into prevents her from it, literally beats and bursts in her chest like a molten core of lead, but even then still she's proud, valiant and good, because if she isn't, what was all the suffering for? If she doesn't breathe in every little second she has, what good was all the fighting to death, what good is any loving to life?
