The night is immersed by the dark, lit only by the streetlight and the ambient glow of the city. Misa sits in the passenger seat, staring out through the car's window. It's quiet, apart from the low sound of the automobile’s engine buzzing.

Wonwoo grips the steering wheel loosely, his gaze ahead, focusing on the road. An overwhelming tension that’s been building between them for months floats in the air. The silence between them is charged, like the car itself is holding all the words they aren’t brave enough to put out. It is a kind of quiet they had grown used to, a space where words don’t seem to be called for anymore. For a moment, they just sit there, side by side, as if the unspoken strong emotions felt kept them frozen in place.

After a while, Misa shifts, trying to sit comfortably. Her voice is soft, almost hesitant, as she opens her mouth to speak. "Do you ever think about us getting together?"

Wonwoo’s eyes flicker towards her, but he doesn’t answer her question right away. He knows exactly what she is talking about. He’s been thinking about it non-stop, they’ve grown closer in ways that terrify him, they’ve gone way beyond random hook-ups driven by drunk behaviors and lust… it can be seen in the way every touch feels like they're teetering on the edge of something they can’t take back

"I do," he admits lowly, as if it was a confession. "But I don’t know how to deal with it. And every time we try to talk about it, it just feels like we are pushing each other away."

Misa lets out a quiet sigh and closes her eyes for a moment. "Yeah, I guess talking just make things more complicated.”

A soft silence falls between them again, and it never fails to be painful but, at the same time, comforting. Wonwoo reaches for her hand, gently taking it in his. The contact is thrilling, like it always is, and she doesn’t pull away. She lets herself get lost into the moment, into the way his skin feels against hers.

"What if we’re overthinking it?" she whispers "Maybe this is enough. Just us being here, together."

His thumb slowly traces tender circles on the back of her hand, and for a moment, it feels like everything else but them doesn’t exist. Like all the fears, all the doubts, all the possible consequences melt away in the quiet of this shared moment.

"You’re right," he says, softly but with conviction. "We don’t have to figure it all out right now."

They sit there, hands intertwined, letting their unsponken feelings control the moment. Their future is still uncertain, filled with risks and unknowns, but for now, all that matters is the warmth of his hand in hers, the way their bodies naturally gravitate toward each other in the confined space of the car.

And for now, that's all they need.
