THINGS TO MAKE APOLLYON MAYBE GOOD

- starting with a soul heart along with the two red hearts

- starting with keys (to get to item rooms and shops to void more stuff)

- maybe starting with bombs (to get to secret and super secret rooms to get more stuff), but keys would be fine enough

- void having one less charge bar (please)

- void ACTUALLY WORKING with some items (ex: jar of flies)

- void getting better stat upgrades from passive items (maybe depending on how good it is)

If you can’t tell, I just lost 9 runs in a row with this guy.

between the ‘friends with everyone’ piano ending, kris’ cd bagel sound, the spamton sweepstakes kris dreemurr audio (from noelles blogpost), etc., any theories if those (or other songs) could be part of/ be their motif? I’d love to hear your take on it!

There are a few songs associated with Kris that could hint to their leitmotif.

Faint Courage, the gameover music for Chapter 2

Your Power, the song that plays when Kris seals a Fountain

First, there's the sound their CD bagel makes.

Since every character gets a song they like from these bagels...

...this is likely a song Kris likes. It contains a piano note and some sort of synth (?).

This matches up with one of their internet searches:

...which indicates they like piano and video game music.

Then there's...

"pianpian"

...which Kris played during their childhood.

This one is beautiful, but the circumstances are troubling - Kris only plays the piano after "remembering something".

Noelle talks about it like Kris could play the piano from a young age, while they were close friends, but Kris has a recent search for a piano tutorial.

If Kris could play so beautifully for hours as such a young child, they wouldn't need a tutorial...and "pianpian" doesn't sound like video game music.

Kris is also unable to play the piano for Susie in Chapter 2, and gets pissed about it.

Either Kris had a possession issue before we arrived (as hinted by the birdcage) and their previous possessor could play the piano, or...

...they were "remembering" a future timeline where they've learned to play.

Some people say they can hear Gaster's theme in "pianpian".

It's a hopeful version of "Lost Girl", with Susie's theme playing in it. At the end, there's some piano playing.

Considering the context of the tweet, I like to think this is from the "good ending" - Noelle and Susie's theme together with Kris playing piano at the end, now able to do so without restriction.

"Darkness Falls"

...is the gameover music for Chapter 1, and might also be associated with Kris.

There's a lonely piano playing over some very 8-bit music that sounds like it could have come from an older video game.

This track plays if you give up and let Kris stay dead on the game over menu.

In Chapter 2, "Darkness Falls" is replaced by ...

"Faint Courage"

Since Kris's character journey may be about courage...

...I like to think the change in the gameover music is because they're getting slightly more courageous, and may someday be able to "persist" from the Game Over screen on their own.

Neither "Darkness Falls" nor "Faint Courage" are associated with other known leitmotifs (I think?) so Kris's may be contained in them somewhere.

"Your Power"

...is interesting because it references a "you" in the title. Whether or not the "You" is us or Kris is unclear.

"Your Power" plays when Kris seals the Fountain.

When saying "you", the narrator is usually talking to Kris...

...and during Fountain-sealing scenes, it even talks about Kris feeling something strange in their soul.

"Your Power" contains the "Don't Forget" leitmotif and the guitar sounds similar to "Hopes and Dreams".

So while there are a number of tracks associated with or potentially associated with Kris, we don't quite know what their motif is. We can only guess right now.
