i rewatched some of the owl house and decided to make an AU. :)

i call this the Archivist AU.

its two years after the defeat of Belos and the last few Archivist's have learned about the remaining titan and attack the boiling isles in search

its kind of apocalypse like (like the with the collector) but even worse and with more and powerful Archivists

(this is just an description and i will be posting the character designs for the Hexsquad soon ;)

Ok, Poppy playtime theory!!! (Spoilers for the end of chapter 3)

So I saw this interesting idea, what if poppy was trying to kill of all the bigger toys because she is like the big bad and doesn’t want anyone getting in her way, hence, she is the one who killed kissy at the end.

At first i was like nawww and there are a few counter arguments: one, how could poppy have killed her if she was in the elevator with us and two if she had help then how did she time it so perfectly. There are others that deny this theory but, as I was thinking about it i realized something crucial

When poppy sees that kissy is in trouble she says “we’re coming” and we start going back up. But wait!! How?

The only reason kissy had to stay was because she was making the elevator go down, if there was already a way why didn’t she just come down at the same time? And it doesn’t make sense either way, kissy couldn’t have make it go up if she was being attacked and I don’t think her attacker would not have wanted to. And if poppy had a way to move the elevator and SHE was the one who told kissy to stay to control it maybe she has something else up her sleeve

But hey, that’s just a theory!

Some thoughts on acceleration and force

I presented this in the order of how I slowly understood the trick of delivering force - first an abstract concept of impact taught by Ah Fai, then a more complicated discovery on the acceleration pattern, last back to a more abstract concept of breakdowns. 

Like I’ve previously stressed, 2D animation is everything but one single approach. There’s no one rule that rules them all, but interchangeable ideas with math, or physics, or music, etc. There’s no “perfect” animation either, but what is perceived as organic and dynamic. E.g., using the Fibonacci numbers to animate didn’t bring me a perfect animation! On the other hand, a tiny change in the pattern could already make the feeling of force so much more powerful. 

Not so much of a tutorial than a personal experience. I hope you find this interesting hahaha 

Sorry I haven’t posted about my Archivist Au I lost motivation and was on a vacation for a while but I will post the next design sometime next week I already did the sketch so expect some owl house content from me soon!!
