Writing my "isekai" has been an interesting experience in worldbuilding so far!
I recently incorporated the whole "dead parent" trope in a way that I feel is rather realistic and makes sense for the world. Somehow, this flipped the trope entirely as to where having two LIVING parents is seen as rare.
Adoption, abortion, and having large inter-generational families is common. The stereotype isn't that the mother stays home and cares for the kids, that's the stereotyped role of the father.
