“Nobody can touch him. He hates everyone. He protects his girls with undying faithfulness but every once in a while, he chooses someone he likes, and it seems he has chosen you.” Camila says with a shrug and a grin.

She’s never befriended a chicken, what does this entail? Haha get it? Shit focus, “Are there perks to this? What do I do now?” Halo is nuzzling deeper into her arms. He’s making the cutest little noises, almost like a cat purring. She starts petting his head and that’s when she notices the absolutely perfect white ring around his neck. All the feathers in that area look unnaturally white and she can’t get over how perfect the circle is.

“Say hi, Ava, I am going to send this video to the group chat to announce the newest Halo-bearer to everyone!” Ava smiles and waves at the phone pointed at her. She wonders if Beatrice is in that group chat, she hopes she looks cute holding Halo and not as awkward as she feels getting used to his weight in her arms.
