Iio

TW: Iio’s backstory involves an incredibly rare medical occurrence with pregnancy, involving fetus death.

Iio is from the world of the wolf+moths. She is based on a (female) io moth. She has chest/neck fur so long and thick she rarely wears shirts, she is covered with this thick patch of fur. She has a lithopedian, also known as a stone baby or calcified baby. This happens when a fetus dies and instead of decomposing or triggering a miscarriage, it becomes solid with calcification. In real world cases it usually is not very large. In Iio’s case, she has a small, but noticeable baby bump from it. The baby is Nemo’s. He never wanted a kid to begin with, and couldn’t handle the depression and mourning that Iio went through upon learning what happened to her. This caused a giant rift between her and Nemo. She is constantly on the verge of panic attacks, and has severe ptsd. She instinctively covers her midsection to ‘protect’ the ‘baby’.

Her name is pronounced “eee-oh”, because I originally thought that was how you pronounced io. Turns out that’s pronounced “eye-oh”.

Sascha

Sascha is a talented hairstylist who works at Gnat’s salon. Their specialty is hair extensions and color. Sascha is intersex and asexual. Sascha does not like using binary gendered pronouns for themself, and instead opts for neopronouns (xe/xir/xem) or they/them.

Sascha is a Scottish fold cat who is very self conscious about their small folded ears and hides them under the loose pile of loc extensions on the top of their head. They tend to use a lot of sarcasm and dry humor to keep their walls up and not let anyone close. Sascha enjoys the company of Gnat and Tang but often chooses to be alone instead of going out with them.

This oc was created to lean into a glamfur revival. I used a palette generator for the theme colors, which is mostly the hair.

Violet/Hope

This is an alternate version of Hope, who is also known as Violet in this world. She is part of the Technicolor Nightmare story. Her personality is still pretty much the same. Rather timid, meekly positive. Her favorite music is ethereal goth and dark ambient. She wears corsets and velvet, with lots of black lace. You could define her as romantigoth.

Violet came to the goth club alone a few times. Damien sees her alone, and approached her on one of her visits. She was so shy and nervous about interacting with a new person that she had a hard time even saying her name to Damien. He ended up giving her the nickname of Violet because of the colours of her corset and hair. Getting a nickname and being introduced to the other goth kids made her really happy. Violet claims Damien is her love interest, but that is mostly a convenient answer. She feels like she owes something to him, maybe in the form of affection.

All of the kids in the technicolor nightmare story are based on colours. I designed the purple character wayyy before I designed Hope. When I developed Hope I realized I was drawing her in purple a lot, and she looked very similar to the purple character I was working on. I ended up sort of melding them together. Currently the angel form and this goth form are unrelated.

Itchi

Itchi is a dj! He’s a silly lil guy. He is the same species of cat as moko. His music genre of choice is ebm, but he loves to mix classic pop songs with happy hardcore in his sets. Always the one with a witty one liner that can make the whole group giggle, as long as no one minds puns and double entendres.

Itchi has issues with insomnia and alcohol. When he gets too tired or drinks a little too much, he starts to cut his own hair…..and not well at all. His hair is always different lengths and crudely cut. During bouts of more extreme insomnia, dark bags will form under his eyes. He says it’s part of being a dj.

His name is from a misheard skinny puppy lyric. I was inspired to create this character during a time I was bingeing “this is neo-goth” mixed by dj RiB/razed in black. My thought process was “yeah! Goth dj! I wanna be that.” And Itchi started out as a moko variant. He has a deadname.

Carolina

Carolina is one of the characters I created to give different aspects of my personality a form. Carolina and Gabi are the only ones from this lineup I still use sometimes.

Carolina represents a happy side of me, and embodies certain features that I thought would “make me happier”. For example, her hair style is one I’ve always enjoyed, in my favorite colors (black and neon green). She is also very tall (6’5”) because I am pretty short, I thought being taller would make me happy. I also very much admire lots of piercings, especially septum rings. I had wanted to get sub dermal piercings on my sternum and hips, so Carolina has those too.

Carolina has the nicknames of caro and pink lemonade. Her name is pronounced “ka-ro-lee-na”…. This was the name I chose for myself in my Spanish class.

Noël

Noël is the youngest of 3 children of the chief elder of the tribe of magic huskies. Noël is a bright eyed, curious young kid. He doesn’t talk much if at all. He does his best to study magic from his sister Audra, who is very talented. Unfortunately, Noël was born with the black star mark of “no magic”, so all this studying seems fruitless. His brother Naïf does not encourage this studying, and is generally disruptive to Noël’s efforts.

No one knows that Noël actually has immense magic power lying dormant. Noël himself is not even aware of his power. His tribe has a tale/prophecy about a “chosen child” who is incredibly powerful and brings about a new era for the tribe. Everyone thinks it’s Audra, but it’s truly Noël. He has a few times been “possessed” by his own magic, releasing energy in a fantastic display….only for this extreme display to render his memories unstable. He doesn’t remember this power. It seems that these extreme surges of energy add to Noël’s selective mutism.
