Quick Antonio headcanon (based on my little cousin): When he was younger, he couldn't pronounce "mi prima" (my cousin) so he called Mirabel "ba pima". Everyone thought it was adorable so no one tried to correct him for a while.

Remember when Lapis nearly drowned Steven and Connie? I just thought that, since Lapis is a Homeworld gem who wouldn't have had close, if any, contact with humans before, maybe she didn't know they needed to breathe.
