Youre My Saviour

you’re my saviour 💕💛💖

Line Part 2- Peter Kavinsky

Omfg, I love you guys! Here’s the second part! Enjoy

“Avoiding him will get you nowhere,” Y/C/N chimed in as you sat on the bleachers.

“I’m not avoiding,” You pointed out because you weren’t avoiding him. You just hadn’t seen him five days, since you ran out of the party. It just so happened that you had a lot of homework you needed to do during your lunch hour and had to take a missed exam during one of the days. You totally weren’t avoiding Kavinsky.

“You’re such a liar,” your cousin accused as you laid out on the bleacher before her, shielding your eyes from the sun. It was early October but still gorgeous out that you could eat outside, if you were a junior or senior. “You never even told me what the fight was about.”

You had been trying to ignore the guilty feeling you got after kissing your best friend, but that feeling came forward again when you remembered that you were keeping it from your cousin. It was easier for you to let her think it was a major fight instead of being something else, like nearly becoming topless while sucking face. You sat up and sighed, “I’m going to head in and go to my locker.”

Your cousin sighed sadly and watched as you got up. As you headed towards the door you saw Peter watching you, standing in front of the doors with his arms crossed over his chest. He looked determined and ready, you on the other hand wished you had stayed with Y/C/N. It was way too late to stop walking and turn the other direction, and you realized you couldn’t avoid him forever, so you kept walking.

“We need to talk,” he stated.

“No, we don’t.” You assured him and walked around him, but he didn’t miss a beat and began walking behind you. The hallway was clear, with no student or teacher around, everyone was either in class or enjoying lunch in the cafeteria or outside. It was just you and Peter.

“Y/N, come on, you can’t keep avoiding me.”

“Peter, please,” you begged, feeling the strong front you had been holding onto slowly slip away as you reached your locker. “Just leave it.”

“Damn it, Y/N, I’m not going to just leave it.” Peter said standing on the side of you, hanging his arm against the locker. “Please, just talk to me.”

“About what?” You asked him, slowly loosing your grip. You faced him and stared up at him, “You want to talk about us screwing up a friendship, about us being reckless? Damn it, Peter, you don’t get what your friendship means to me and I just screwed it up.”

“You didn’t screw it up, Y/N,” Peter said softly, relieved you were showing some sort of emotion towards him. Sure it was anger and sadness, but it was better than getting the cold shoulder. He raised his hand to touch your cheek after you closed your eyes and breathed in deeply. “It’s going to be okay,” he whispered to you, making you squeezed your eyes shut.

You opened them slowly and took a step back, “We can’t be together, Peter.”

Peter stared down at you while the space between his eyebrows together, the scar on his chin jutted out while his whole face scrunched together. “Y/N… What are you talking about?”

“Us,” you motioned in the space between your bodies, “It can never happen again.”

For a split second you thought he was starting to understand it, and for that spilt second while he nodded you felt relief, but that was short lived when you noticed his shoulders broadened. “Sure, Y/N, whatever you say. But one day you’re going to get real sick of being scared to love someone, someone that actually means something to you.”

“You aren’t scared?” You asked him.

“No, Y/N,” he exclaimed, “I’m not scared to love you, because I’ve been doing it since the day we met!”

“What if we dated and we broke up?” You asked him, slamming your locker door shut. He wasn’t understanding you. You could get over the rational fear of love, but it was what that love could cause that you feared the most. “What if it was horrible, then what?”

“Then we remain friends!” He said, his voice getting louder.

You shook your head, “No couple has ever remained friends after a break up, eventually it all falls apart.”

“Do you hear yourself when you talk?” He asked you, using his hands as he spoke to you, a sure sign that he was getting frustrated because neither of you were backing down. It was something he found infuriating but invigorating, the fact that you never backed down because when he was wrong, he deserved to know it. This was one of those times where you both believed you were right and the fight wasn’t going to last an hour before he showed up with a coffee and brownies, begging you to forgive him. This was different. “Can you get over yourself and stop being selfish?”

“My being selfish is keeping this friendship together!” You exclaimed, all of a sudden past the point of speaking in a calm tone.

“Not anymore it isn’t, this friendship was doomed the second you walked away from me, instead of talking like a mature human being.”

You stared up at him, his words suddenly calming you down. You watched as Peter quieted down as well, as soon as what he said suddenly appeared in his head, after the smoke cleared. Tears filled your eyes as you heard what he said very clearly, “So, not only is our friendship over to you, but it’s also all my fault?”

           “Y/N, that’s not what,”

“No,” You cut him off, your voice sounding rough as you tried to keep the tears from falling, “I got it, Peter.”

You turned around just as Y/C/N opened the door and walked into the school. You clutched your school books to your front and kept your eyes down on the floor. “I was just coming to…” Y/C/N started but you pushed past her.

You turned the corner and suddenly the tears started falling, but in the distance you heard your cousin speak to Peter, with a threat laced between her words, “You need to fix this. Now.”

Eventually, your cousin caught up with you while you stood in the bathroom, trying to pull it together. She stood there silently while you wiped the tears away and fixed your makeup, pulling your hair into a pony tail. It was then that you told her everything; from the liking him in Freshman year to the fight you just had. You told her you kept it to yourself because you valued friendship more, and you knew that if something like this happened, you’d never find a friend like him again. It just so happened that there was too much tension that had built up over time, that you couldn’t contain the fire any longer, no matter how hard you fought.

“What did you think would happen after the party, Y/N. Did you think you could avoid it?” Your cousin said softly.

“I hoped that the kiss was a one time deal and Peter would realize us staying friends would be for the best and it would go back to normal.”

“So you thought you could ignore it?”

Yes, you did. But ignoring Peter and the kiss had been impossible, because Peter never let anything go when he had his sights set on it.
