Actually, ‘modern retelling of greek myth are bad’ is a terrible way of thinking about things. There has NEVER been a time in history when we did not use these stories to reflect our current cultural fears and anxieties. You might not like today’s retellings. That does not make them bad, that makes them not to your taste and to suggest that people should never write greek mythology in these ways is a honestly reductive and pointless idea. Oh, you don’t like it? Good for you. That will never stop the human drive to use old stories to explore modern fears, even if you don’t think they’re exploring them “right”.
