White clouds slowly drift off into the blue, you briefly watched the bright sky behind a tall veil of glass before going back to your daily routine. After all, marriage life isn't something you would ever slack off at. 

Just because you were waiting for your husband to return didn't mean you had nothing else to do all day, the maids may keep the penthouse spotless but you're the one strictly maintaining its clean state. Someone has to, after the fun and games.

Drops of water glitter on the pale petals of freshly bought flowers you were tending to, still rearranging them to perfection in a bud vase you recently ordered. You finally stopped touching the flowers, satisfied with their appearance once it became a sunny afternoon. 

He should be here soon. . .

At that thought, the clock hanging overhead ticked loudly in sync with your heartbeat, growing to a rapid stream of pitter-patters when hearing the too familiar sharp click of the front door. He didn't take too long, as always, his footsteps thundered the entire way into the room. 

You knew he did this to spend more time with you, though accomplishing this feat every single day since the wedding never failed to warm your insides up. Like how his aquamarine eyes zoomed into yours as if trying to get lost from the madness he suffered through. "Welcome home," you easily put away the spray bottle and went over to your fuming husband's side, who was kicking off his shoes.

Tsk. His styled slick back blonde hair from this morning was reduced to a tousled mess, you reached out and slipped a few brown rooted gold strands behind his ear, he must've been more stressed than usual. Poor thing. 

You mentally noted to inform his hairstylist later to dye his hair roots, Derek would be even more stressed if he noticed his brown hair was starting to show again.

Then your husband starts to open his mouth, popping his buttons open as the complaints were unleashed. "Fuck that meeting, I should've told those old bags to fuck off and-"

"—You came back earlier today, Derek." 

You softly cut his words off from exploding further and step forward to help remove his overjacket efficiently. He can complain more after changing out of his work clothes. He tapped his socked feet against the polished floor while standing still for you to fully take his shirt and jacket off his firm muscles, it took many tugs to free the fabric from doing your job, clinging onto your husband. 

Thankfully his patience had improved ever since you and him began dating, you silently cheer in your head. 

Derek grinned mischievously and before you could turn around to leave in handful with his clothes, you gasped when lifted up into the air as he swooped you into his arms in a princess-carry. Obnoxiously grinning down at you as though he won a competition you clearly did not compete in, "yeah, I'm home."  

During the whole way he carried you to the bedroom, you closed your eyes, staying quiet while resting your head against his strong chest, living in the moment. "I got you a little surprise for our anniversary. So don't be too shocked and pass out on me, Mc."

A slight smile breaks across your face, you couldn't help it hearing the cheerfulness in his voice, "we'll see if I faint or not." He playfully bounced you a second into the air before catching you in his hold, chuckling at your half-blush state instinct to grap onto his clothes and shirt.

It didn't take long for the master bedroom door to come into view with Derek's eager strides matching the excited pulse inside of your chest. You stared up at those sea-green diamonds, his sharp eyes reflecting the very sparkling ocean of a private island where your honeymoon with him took place.

Suddenly the ocean seemed to close in as he fell onto the bed with you still wrapped in his arms, the neatly made duvet bedsheet blossoming outwards underneath and everything you see is him. 

The faint sophisticated cologne melding in the warmth of his body enveloping you all over was one of the highlights of your day. The fast-beating heart that never failed to remind you of his love. 

"Babe, what do you think about vacationing at a desert? I know a great spot to go hunting at-" You listened intently as he enthusiastically explained, giving some space for air inbetween his body and your squished self.

He continued as his long fingers wandered the fruitful land that is your body, while groping through the silk covering your flushing skin and teasing reactions and sounds out of you that he deemed cute.

"As long as it's legal, Derek." You said with a knowing smile. At that he howled with laughter, a delighted glint in his aquamarine eyes. With one hand, his tan fingers interlaced with yours, soft, strong and warm pressing against every crevices of flesh. 

"You don't need to worry your little head about it," he lowers his mouth downward the side of your face, nipping at your jaw before savagely biting into your neck though not breaking the skin. "Play dumb for me will you? This time for our anniversary, begging me to stop won't be enough. . ."

You squeezed back his hand reassuringly, breath shaking from both his weight on top of you and his very presence igniting the nerves inside you. "I'm always ready for you, Derek." Blocking the light fixture above, your husband smirked a whiteteeth smirk at you before pouncing down for a long night of love-making.

You stood as an unknowing pillar he leaned on after each and every sunset. He acted as the only furnace in which you willing melted into. What a pair you and him are, never tiring of each other, an everlasting flame withstanding all forces of nature. A perfect match made in which sparks could never die.

Author's note: 😩 I'm incredibly so sorry this took me way longer than 4 weeks but I finished half of it at around late july, but then alot of things happened--- from worrying about my sister who just recently moved to australia to settle there, to helping a relative move into a monastery then said relative left things at my house and had the audacity to ask for keys to a house that doesn't belong to her!! And then dealing with a small thief situation when my guardian had a quick heads up about another relative's person inviting themselves over to our place... and then not asking us for permission to go into another room... WHAT KIND OF PERSON ALSO DOESN'T APOLOGIZE IF THEIR CHILD BROKE A GLASS In a house that doesn't belong to them, 😤 and then yea, a sanitary item of mine got stolen but it's fine-- Idc about that but I'm just shocked at the audacity (and apparently that certain person has done this before at other relatives' houses, so now I'm going to be extra careful, you too guys), then I helped my guardian to summer clean and rearrange the entire household's furnitures, and alot more personal stuff happened (But all good!!!:-D)-- and thank buddha alot of good stuff happened too!!!💝☺ Like lots of food from another relative and many snacks from neighbours!! 😎👍Stay healthy guys and never forget to drink water!!

Been super busy these days with visiting relative's friends, accompany them to health check ups, and a hangout with friends before going abroad, and visiting my favourite neice, took up alot of my energy that I didn't realize😭🙏🏻 I planned on having a weekly upload on my wattpad for the tpof fanfic (dumb b*tch syndrome) but this week will take me some time!!!
