I Finished Up My Third DnD Miniature! The Image Is Slightly Edited To Change The Hues Of The Sun And

A photo of a 25 mm Dungeons and Dragons miniature, from Reaper Miniatures. It's a demon warlock, dressed in bright red robes and leather armor. His left arm is a golden prosthetic, and holds his skeletal staff. His other arm reaches into the sky, and lines up with the sun in the background, creating the illusion of flaming magic dancing in his hand. The rest of the background and environment is filled by blurry pine trees.

I finished up my third DnD miniature! The image is slightly edited to change the hues of the sun and the shadows at the bottom, but nothing about the character's paint job was changed.

The miniature is from Reaper Miniatures, named "Vatanis, the Maggotcrown Warlock," and was sculpted by Bobby Jackson.

Notes about the paint job and photography process are under the cut! Critique is always welcome!

Notes:

I don't know if there is any official color palette for this character, I just decided to use one inspired by the character Lucio's, from the game The Arcana, mainly his red jacket/cape, and golden details and arm.

The lighting, aside from the slight change of hue under the main light source and along the sun rays, is entirely natural. I finished this model in less than a day to make sure I could take advantage of the setting sun. The unedited version of this is up on my Instagram.

Once I'm sure I won't take any more pictures of him, I'll paint his base black. Originally it was kept grey to blend into the rocks I thought I was going to use as an environment before I got this shot.

This was taken on my iPhone, and edited with Clip Studio Paint. When it comes to mini paints, I have no form of brand loyalty, and used a mix of Army Painter paints and washes, then a couple Citadel technical shades.

A digital drawing of a Death's-head Hawkmoth. Its wings are closed; one set is dark grey, and the other is bright orange. Its head and thorax are both grey, with the thorax having a small orange pattern. The abdomen is striped, with orange and grey. The moth sits in front of a dull pink ring.

I'm working on making some new sticker designs, here's the first of the batch!

This one's already up on my Redbubble, and if anyone wants to request a specific bug or subject, I have a commission tier on Kofi dedicated to that.

Critique is very much welcome!

A digital drawing of the RHPS characters Columbia and Eddie, in an embrace. Small pieces of ice are frozen to Eddie's hair and shirt. The two are embracing, with Eddie's back to the camera. Their foreheads are touching, and his blood is visible in Columbia's hair.

(: My tablet isn't dead! (:

The adaptor cord was broken, but I have a replacement now, and can keep making finished digital stuff! (:

Notes about the piece and the designs are under the cut, and the image description is in the Alt text! Critique is always welcome!

Columbia was based entirely off of Nell Campbell's performance in the original film and Eddie is a messy combination of a number of different depictions.

Eddie's skin is meant to look somewhat dead, but I'm not sure how well I did - some of it looks a bit flat.

I wish these two had just a bit more time together, they really seemed so happy to see each other. (:

A tarot card design, for the one of pentacles. It features a sketchy drawing of a hercules beetle, with it's scientific and common names underneath it. The line work is intentionally shaky and unclean. The colors have a warm hue, and the background of the drawing looks similar to parchment.

And so, it finally begins. After daydreaming about making and having a custom tarot deck for myself, I have finally started actually working on it. (:

Design notes for the deck are under the cut! (:

The illustrations for the deck are inspired by vintage scientific illustrations, and each card will feature a different member of the Arthropoda phylum, excluding most aquatic creatures.

I've set up four variations of the same template I''ll be using. Each one has a slightly different parchment color, to keep the cards from looking too sterile. Each one has text boxes with the set font, and symbols for each of the four suits, to insure those elements remain unaltered between cards.

For a sketchy look, I'm using a brush that doesn't allow me to make steady lines.

An unfinished piece of digital art, depicting two figures standing together. The closest figure has his back to the viewer, and is not completely colored and rendered. His hair is dark, with flecks of ice. His partner is completely colored, with pale skin, red hair, and blue and red makeup. She is wearing a corset with sequins. There is blood in her hair.

Check out what I was working on before my tablet may have died. (,:

It will probably be a couple weeks before I'm able to make some more digital art, so expect more traditional sketches and mini art in the meantime! (:

A digitally drawn portrait of Percy, from Critical Role, shown from the neck up, and facing to the left side of the canvas. The blue collar of his jacket covers the edge of his jaw. His eyes are dark, and smoke flows out of his mouth. He is bleeding from cuts on his cheek, his forehead, nose and mouth. The sun is hitting his face, and casting the rest of his head in shadow.

I have begun my third attempt at getting into Critical Role, this time by watching the TV show and making fan-art as I start listening to the podcast again. I've gotten the farthest I've ever managed to get though Vox Machina so far (episode 3) so I think it might be working.

Feel free to send me asks relating to the show or potentially requesting I draw some of the characters, so I have a consistent reason to keep listening. I enjoy it a lot, I just don't focus well on it for long periods of time.

My thoughts about the piece are under the cut! Critique is always welcome!

Notes:

This was originally made as some lighting practice, using some of the gradient options available in Clip Studio Paint.

The coloring took about 1.5 hours, much less time than my last portrait.

The face proportions are a little off, I need to work on drawing some more faces.
