As a harry potter fan I will say THAT THIS IS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL

I write in english and it's my second language... and I'm SO insecure about it :(

I’m reading a fanfic right now, and I’m fairly certain it was written by someone who doesn’t have English as a first language based on some slightly funky grammatical mistakes that seem like stuff someone used to a different language would make. The whole fic is still lovely and perfectly readable, and it’s filling me with this supportive energy that is so proud of this person for how well they’re doing while writing in their non-native language

So this is a reminder to everyone that writes fanfic in their second (or third!) language

And when they use it when a child corrects them 🙄

I don’t see why adults use “smartass” as an insult. Do... they not know it’s the highest form of praise? Kneel before my throne, peasant, for you just called me a king

Would someone be a beta for my stories?

I know I have to dm ppl on ffn and send them my stories but I'm just scared that I'll do something wrong and they don't understand...

So would someone pls just tell me if they would be okay reading my one shots and correcting errors? English is my second language:/

"BLACK MARKS"

"Beep beep beep" the new ghost detection device called "Fenton high tech ghost catcher" made that god awful noise again. Danny glances at his homework and at the clock that stands on his desk. '2 am'

Suddenly he hears loud footsteps downstairs and a distant shout of "Get over here ghost! You can't flee anyway!" And the door shutting close.

Huh, his parents can probably handle this...

So Danny continues to do his Math homework.

"Come out come out ghost!"

"Mommy...?", a small, scared and filled with hope voice belonging to a small child, made Maddie turn around.

A girl, maybe 5 years old, with long, dark and unbrushed hair and a pink and white dress looked at Maddie. Black tears falling down her soulless eyes.

Maddie's heart sank as she recognized the child. It's her niece.

"Melissa...?" Maddie wanted to hug her and cry but she remembered 'that's not the Melissa you know...'

"Where is Mommy?" Melissa asked, staring at her with cold and black eyes. There was no white, no bright green that was filled with excitement, no white light from the tv, just black.

"Mommy said she would come get me. I just had to sit and wait for her. Where is she?" Melissa died 10 years ago... and nobody ever found her under the broken shreads that have once been the happy and lively home of her sister and her husband.

"Mommy...? Mommy, you look like my Mommy. Are you my mommy? Did you know her? Where is she?" Maddie knew that her sister abandoned the house and left Melissa in the burning home.

Her skin, pale as paper and her eyes just two black holes.

Her mouth looked like that of a monsters, no lips and pieces of flesh and skin that went over the poor girls mouth.

Maddie held her hand over her mouth as she cried.

Melissa held her burnt and broken bunny in her hand as she stared at Maddie

"M-Mommy left?" The girl started crying and the sounds, god the sounds... They were so awful... She squeaked like a hundred year old door and her sobs sounded so haunted... The echo in her voice broke Maddies heart as she watched the child she loved and cared for cry what was left in her out.

Melissa ran towards Maddie and with her sharp and burnt, black fingers she hugged her Aunt and screamed.

But as a few seconds gone by, the screaming stopped and Melissa vanished.

Maddie screamed and cried into the night and when she looked outside the next day she noticed

Melissas tears left marks on the floor

Black marks.

This sure was... something

Jack and Maddie meet a ghost that actually, honest-to-god, terrifies them.
