I've made a world in my head, not in a coping way but in a dark crystal way. Just a made up world
The world is similar to our world in many ways, except color is basically nonexistent. The whole world is made up of blue-ish tones of grays, blacks, and whites, with some things like fire having warmer tones. However, some plants and animals have color. For example, some bioluminescent mushrooms have color, blues, purple, greens, etc. The willow tree is one of the only trees to have color. Not all of the willow trees have color, but some do. Forests of willow trees will often be grayer on the edge of the forest but more colorful near the center. When there's a forest, it'll often be one color, not rainbow, though sometimes rainbow forests happen. Some willow trees are even bioluminescent. Some mosses are also bioluminescent and have color. Blossom trees also have color, but they come in less varying colors, mostly pinks and reds.
In this world, there is an area that is always shrouded in darkness. It's about the same size as China. I tried to find some way to explain it scientifically, but the closest thing I could find is tidal locking, which doesn't really work, I don't think. Anyway, this place is almost as dark as space if it lost it's stars. This place is extremely harsh. A lot of the animals have parts of their bodies that are bioluminescent. The creatures here are heavily inspired by those found in the game Rainworld. People don't know how these creatures behave because it's hard to capture them and bring them to a safe location to study them. It's hard to recreate the environment, and scientists don't know how much space they need to give the creatures. This place is often called "the void."
Moving away from that, humanity has also been plagued with a fungal infection. This fungus releases spores that, once breathed in, will start making its way up to your brain. Once it reaches there, it'll act like a tumor of sorts or a parasite. It'll attach itself to your nervous system so the body doesn't attack it, and you'll slowly start growing mushrooms from your skin. When growing on limbs and your neck, they grow like tree fungus. When growing on the head or torso, it'll grow like normal mushrooms. It uses part of your genetics in its design, so it all looks slightly different. One major difference is the color and if it glows or not. It also affects what your eyes look like. You no longer have the color bit of your eye (i think it's called the iris). Only the pupil and the white bit (I think it's called the scelera). But, the white bit will change to the color of the fungus on your body. If the person dies, roots will grow out of the person's body and onto the surrounding. When people are infected, they start breathing out spores. But, this is only once your eyes have changed since this indicates that you've been 100% infected. Also, the infection can kill you, but it rarely does.
I think that's everything so far... I also may have made some mistakes because I recalled everything from memory.
The oc I made before the zombie!
He's set in the world I made. He has the "cure" (not really a cure but the best thing he's got) in his bag. He needs to take a dose. Every time it flashes, so does sarah. I also forgot to mention that neon lights still have color. But you have to use real neon. If you're confused, here's a post to everything (I think) about my world I have so far:
What. Is. This.
Don't see it?
