my most radical haikyuu hot take is that takeda ittetsu is not just a trans man, but an autistic trans man. the reason this take is so hot is because i don’t have like…a list of dsm v criteria or wtv that would “diagnose” him as autistic. this is purely based on vibes and relatability. takeda is extremely relatable to me as an autistic person, but specifically as an afab autistic person who’s been socialized as a girl my whole life. when you’re perceived as an autistic girl, there’s more pressure to perform than someone who’s perceived as an autistic boy. autistic “girls” are expected to shove it all down and mask perfectly and apologize for every little inconvenience they cause. autistic “girls” are taught to be polite and demure and considerate. autistic “girls” know that being deliberately quirky and eccentric is a survival mechanism so people don’t notice all the odd things about you that aren’t on purpose. all i’m saying is that takeda ittetsu seems like he’s been through the wringer that comes with having autism and being raised as a girl. thank you for reading this long ass post and good night
