In S7:E1 of the Clone Wars, at around 10 minutes and 25 seconds in, we see Crosshair using Wrecker’s back as a rest, in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment!

SO. My headcanon is, Crosshair just does this whenever he feels like it, and everyone just kinda rolls with it. Truly cat-like.
