synopsis: when hamzah and martin went out to have a boys only sleepover, he couldn’t help but miss you beside him.

"i bet you’re going to have lots of fun without me." you teased, grasping hamzah’s hand and letting it fall from your fingers lightly as he pulled away. he smiled, adjusting the hat that hid his curls.

“now, don’t miss me too much.” he winked, giving you a light smirk to which you rolled your eyes at. martin and him decided it would be good content to go stay in a hotel for the night to have a boys only sleepover.

“i can promise you i won’t.” hamzah scoffed, rolling his own eyes before the chime of his cell phone alerted his attention. “martin’s here, i gotta go. i’ll see you tomorrow morning, okay?”

you nodded, letting your eyes close as he gave a kiss to your lips. even though you tried to convince yourself otherwise, you knew you would miss him tonight. giving him a squeeze with your arms around his torso, hamzah pecked your temple lightly. “don’t hesitate to call, okay?”

“i won’t, i love you.” with your answer reciprocating his, hamzah left; the door closing shut behind him. leaving you on your own in the apartment. it felt empty without the presence of your boyfriend around, no footsteps, no yelling cause of video games, just complete silence.

you didn’t know what to do with the time you had to yourself. as there wasn’t much you needed to get done for work, nor in the house itself. pondering, you just decided to have a movie night to yourself. setting out several little snacks to munch on while the films played.

with several hours passing, you texted hamzah a couple times throughout the night. him letting you know of their shenanigans and even sending you numerous pictures. one being of martin posing in his speedo, which made you cringe every time you’ve seen him wear it.

you could feel yourself get more drowsy as you picked out another movie to watch. deciding on the family friendly genre to lighten up your night and make sleep an easier process for you. knowing that without hamzah in bed, you’ll have more trouble with keeping unconscious.

on your lap, the screen of your phone lit up with a picture of your boyfriend. his name displayed itself on the screen waiting for your answer, pressing down on the call you lifted the phone up to your ear.

“hey, baby.” hearing hamzah’s voice made you smile with glee.

“heyy, how is the boys only sleepover?” you asked, trying to stifle the yawn that your body couldn’t hold as your tiredness grew.

over the phone, hamzah could hear the drowsiness in your voice which made him feel a little bad that he called yet nonetheless happy that he’s able to hear your voice. “its going good, we just got done prank calling people. you seem a bit tired, baby. did you want to go ahead and sleep for the night?”

nodding until you realized there was no way for him to see you, you gave a low hum to which he chuckled at. “okay, well i love you, i will see you in the morning.”

“i love you, hamzah. i can’t wait till i see you, goodnight.” giving him a kiss over the phone, it hung up. sighing, you rubbed your eyes aggressively trying to stay awake to at least finish the movie that played on the tv screen, but to no avail you were out before it was even close to ending.

as much as hamzah enjoyed being with martin, and how busy filming was making them; he couldn’t help but still miss you throughout it all. he knew that martin missed mandy just the same with how much he was mentioning her also.

right as they got done with filming the video, they both decided to head to bed considering how late they ended up staying awake for their sleepover. even as hamzah got situated in the bed they were sharing, he felt lonely as he didn’t have the comfort of your arms to be wrapped around him like they always were. his eyes bored into the ceiling of the hotel room, feeling antsy as he just wanted to hear your voice once more before he fell asleep.

looking to his left, martin was fast asleep after just getting off the phone with mandy. his unconsciousness made hamzah jealous, sighing he slowly made his way out of the bed and the room into the brightly lit halls. trying his best not to wake up martin and his precious slumber.

fishing his phone out of his pocket, he stared at the picture of you decorating his lock-screen. hesitant on whether or not he should even call as he knew you’ve been fast asleep for a couple of hours already. knowing that he’ll never be able to sleep without hearing you one more time, he pressed the call button on your contact.

hamzah’s chest was beating faster as the rings carried out, quickly regretting his decision a lot more faster than he made it. once the rings stopped, he almost sighed of relief once he heard your barely conscious voice speak out to him. “hello?”

“hi, baby.” he could hear rustling through the phone, assuming that you were getting into a more comfortable position to talk to him. “i’m sorry that i woke you up.”

“no no, that’s okay. is everything alright?” you asked, concern filling your voice along with the deep sleep that you just endured before getting woken up abruptly.

“yeah, everything’s good. just miss you is all.” hamzah confessed, fiddling with the jaw string of his pajama pants.

“you’ll see me before you know it.” he agreed, smiling to himself as your sluggish tone rambled on to him. “but the faster you sleep, the faster you’re going to wake up and see me.”

“you’re not wrong.”

“and when have i ever been?” hamzah couldn’t help himself as the chuckles left his mouth. he could only imagine the state you were in. heavy lidded eyes, clothes that were in a chaotic position due to your frantic tossing and turning.

“is martin asleep?” you asked, the slur in your words making it hard for him to fully interpret your sentence but he managed to figure it out.

“yes, he fell asleep not too long ago. i’m outside the room, i’m not trying to wake him up.” he explained, looking back at the room door to make sure he didn’t hear any movements on the other side.

“good.” your heavy breathes caught hamzah’s attention. “are you falling asleep on me?”

“im sorry.” you trailed off, a yawn erupting and ringing through the phone call and into hamzah’s ear.

“don’t apologize, baby. i just wanted to hear your voice so i could sleep.” you hummed, even though your lack of consciousness made it hard to comprehend half of what you were hearing; hamzah’s words made you feel giddy knowing that your boyfriend wanted to hear you to fall asleep.

“i love you, hamzah.”

he smiled, happy he was able to call and give himself some reassurance through you. “i love you more. i’ll see you in the morning, okay?”

“okay, bye bye.” you might’ve thought you hung up as your soft breathing stayed on the line. hamzah could only assume you feel asleep in that small amount of time. chuckling, he pressed the disconnect button before turning around from leaning on the wall and entered the bedroom. now finally being able to sleep comfortably with the sound of your voice in the back of his mind.
