So why does it matter if people call it Gaelic?

because it literally isn’t the name of the language, lol. our language is called gaeilge, or simply irish. and gaelic is actually the name of a sport here. but when we say “gaelic languages” it refers to the different languages of the gaelic countries: gaeilge (ireland), scots gaelic (scotland), and manx (isle of man) – gaelic isn’t the name of only one language. calling irish “gaelic” would probably be like calling the english language “british.” but nobody listens to us whenever we explain this and insist that they’re more correct than actual irish people because of a wikipedia article so whatever

Also I think it's extremely funny how people just assume epilepsy is a bit of shaky time but otherwise completely abled in every way. You really think someone who regularly loses consciousness, has their brain flooded with hundreds of times the amount of electricity as usual, loses all control of their body, including the ability for their heart and lungs to keep going, stops breathing for half an hour at a time and has to be roused with mf horse tranquilizers, you really think they might not suffer a few lil side effects from all that? Like, me not being able to understand what you're saying sometimes or not recognising your face at the shops or occasionally being unable to provide neurotypical conversation or whatever isn't me being a bitch to you Sarah, you know I have epilepsy, use that fully functioning brain o yours to figure out that I probably have literal permanent brain damage.
