— synopsis: just some moments from their streams revolving around your relationship— honestly, chat loves the two of you.

dream reads a dono asking about you— just a general question, if you’re doing alright. 

“they’re good, tired from all their work they gotta finish, but they’re doing alright.” he pondered for a moment, sifting through your recent memories to find anything interesting to feed chat’s curiosity. 

“actually they’re in bed with patches, asleep, or they should be asleep— they told me they were going to bed an hour ago,” he chuckles. “knowing them, they’re probably still awake just stalking me on their phone.”

aww’s flood the chat, though he wasn’t quite sure they were warranted for what he said. regardless, he smiled— he loved that his audience loved and accepted you.

(though really, it’s not like it mattered anyways, he’d love you no matter what.)

“george is complete shit at the game, chat, he’s so baaa-aaad…” george turned to you, throwing the pillow he was resting against, which you had actually thrown at him an hour earlier, at you in retaliation.

you screamed and pretended to fall, making sure you made a loud thump! noise to scare the viewers, considering you were completely out of view from the stream. “chat, help! unfollow, unsub, stop donating!”

he rolled his eyes. “they’re not gonna listen to you— you’re so dramatic, i swear.” thankfully, chat (at least a majority, there’s always a few outliers) could tell the two of you were joking from the way george was smiling, as well as your faint laughter in the back.

“i’m being bullied, on my own stream!” you threw the pillow back at him (lovingly, of course).

“any new movies you watched?” wilbur hummed, thinking over the question. “you know, chat, i got a fun story to tell you.” 

he sat up, getting comfortable, fiddling with a toy he’d brought to his office. “my partner—” flashes of your name popped up on his screen, chat clearly getting hyped at the rare mention of your relationship. “yes chat, them— who else?”

although his question was rhetorical, people still replied with various jokes, but will ignored them and continued. “they really love… just summarizing things, like their day or a movie they watched, and acting them out and just going wild while they narrate, and it’s just… the best thing ever, i think.”

“as expressive as ranboo?” he read out. “not sure about that one, ranboo’s a pretty, pretty expressive guy… but definitely up there on the expressive scale.” he sighed, looking up at the camera and smiling. “it’s great chat, it really is.”

needless to say, chat was having a field day with the small share from his more private life.

6 Tips on Writing An Actually Inclusive Reader Insert:

1. Do a ctrl + f search of the colors red and pink. If these colors are being used to describe the reader in any way, delete it.

2. Instead of "blushing", use "goosebumps", "shivers", "avoiding eye contact", etc. It still conveys the same thing, and you can get more creative than just using "blushing" 10,000 times.

3. Don't mention being pale or becoming pale (like, seriously, this is just a given). If you want to talk about the reader looking sick or dying, use "ghastly" or "sunken eyes", etc. Again, this is a great opportunity to be more creative in your language as well as inclusive

4. For body-inclusivity, don't talk about the reader sharing clothes with someone. I personally would not fit into anything that Nancy Wheeler owns, so yeah, let's just not do this

5. Don't mention hair. A lot of us can't just wash our hair and move on with our day. Don't get me started on "running their fingers across their hair". Just refrain from descriptions of styling, washing, and touching the reader's hair.

6. Don't put pictures of pretty, white girls for "aesthetics". It honestly just deters readers, and it's just not inclusive in the slightest

That's it, that's basically all you need to do to be inclusive. I'll admit, as a lighter skin POC writer, some of these did slip my mind when I used to write, but what's important is actually listening to readers and encouraging inclusivity in your writing.
