It is supposed to be "non-canon" but I don't really buy that. It's supposed to be a misnomer for Kayne's role in the story. It hands us what we learn in intermezzo (alternate Arthur's and alternate timelines) on a silver platter. And since Kayne has and will break the fourth wall, he can interact with the fourth wall. This episode is canon, because Kayne makes the fourth wall canon. It is a real Arthur & John just not our Arthur & John

Another thing I find terrifying is that this could be immediately after they meet for the first time. They're pretending to be good friends, and palls despite the fact they're being forced by Kayne. This Arthur & John might not know anything about the other, but have to joke about their history, and misinterpreted relationship THAT THEY DON'T HAVE.

I think it's worse if it is real Oscar, and Eddie. He grabbed another copy from his shelf, and manipulated them as well. He has a surplus amount of Arthur & John's and he can use them like dolls.

Also I like to believe the audience is a bunch of Arthur & John's. Or at least a mutilated group of all our favorite characters. They aren't just a random audience, they're the characters we've grown attached to.

So was no one gonna tell me that the ‘non cannon Christmas special’ episode of malevolent was actually a disguise for horrifying kayne lore and a confirmation of my theory that he would fuck with the other Arthur’s and make them play act as his Arthur or did I have to find that out on my own.
