“Greetings my dear readers! “Any ways moving on! Take it away juniper!”
‘Alright then! Thanks shrimp!
Today we are learning about the “L” in LGBTQ! the L Of course stands for lesbian! Did you know that the label “lesbian(s)” is derived from the Greek island of “Lesbos”?
“What does some Greek island have to do with lesbians?” you may ask- well Because it’s well known for a famous past resident from 600 B.C named “Sappho” ((that’s also where we get the idea of the word “sapphic” when describing romance between feminine people)) she was known for being a great female poet who was openly attracted to woman… her writing was very erotic, and may I add this wasn’t common to see at that time- especially in writing from a woman.
Sappho lived in a time when women were not thought to be intellectuals nor sexual beings—especially without the participation of a man. How two women could be erotically connected was baffling to those at the time. Yet, despite this controversy Sappho was respected as a writer.
So now you know! And remember have fun this pride! Stay safe! And maybe read some lgbtq inspired poetry in memory of the great Sappho!

More Posts from The-artist-from-hell
This was written by me on my alt account and I’ll proceed to post pride related content on here, please give it a look if you want to know more about lgbtq history!
“Alright every one! Since it’s pride month in here to give you some lgbtq history!”
If any one has any specific questions or topics I should go over feel free to comment or send in an ask! Oh and I do apologize for my radio silence before, there has been some… chaos in the parable so to speak.”
“Alright now “pride” all started with a riot and a brick. I know sounds crazy doesn’t it? Let’s go back, America, June 28th 1969, in the bustling city of Manhattan new York. We start our story at a local pub and inn called “the stonewall” it was a popular and common place for lgbtq people to congregate. A place they felt safe away from the blistering hate that was the outside world
“It was a world Where cops would over use there power and often strike a man down just for the implication he was gay, just for existing proudly. where people would be lynched and there bodies hidden or deaths covered up by local police if questioned…. Sadly this still happens today but not as much as it used to…any ways moving on!”
“This was there “home” that is until police raided the bar and tried to force there brute ways and jail those inside. But the stonewall patrons as a community joined forces and stood there ground fighting back. It was said that Marsha p. Johnson, a trans woman/drag queen was the first person to throw a brick at an officer in defense but in all honesty it’s still uncertain who threw the first brick on account that there was chaos and no video cameras at the time for surveillance.”
“With this the “gay liberation movement” started, protests for our rights began and new ways of thinking and acceptance came about.”
“Of course there where many bumps in the road along the way and more history to be shared but here’s your tidbit of knowledge for the day.”
Happy pride month

I’m rebloging this because new ideas need to be shared- I love this concept and I can’t wait to see where this goes, No one hypes up artists enough

I've been working on this one project for an incredibly long time. A webcomic based on the story of Hades and Persephone (the thousandth one).
I just really wanted to make a Hades and Persephone story that is more of a slow romance and not rushed, the process of becoming friends and then falling in love. Other Hades and Persephone tales are too quick in romance for me, but I do get it considering the original myths are quick in romance, since it is Hades falling in love with Persephone and taking her to The Underworld. Along with that, I've made other changes.
How the story goes about is;
The story takes place in the 1890s, and Persephone is a ballerina/actress... Which was a difficult job (and still is) during the time for numerous reasons; it takes a lot out of you physically, mentally, you didn't get much financially, and men only seemed interested in attending the audience just to pursue the ballerinas.
One night, Persephone has enough of the world and skips the performance to be herself. But, she isn't alone. She is offered an escape from the world by mysterious and mischievous small creatures, goblins. She accepts and they give her a pomegranate, which they claim would help her.
Enter a confused and stressed Lord of The Dead, King of The Underworld, who does not know what to do with this new situation.
Thanks @junebug-dot-com for making my new header image for pride month! Here’s the full image for any one wanting a clearer view of it!

Gotta love some artist tips

I have some older art tips that I keep forgetting to post here. I'll add a few in the next few days, at least those that aren't too outdated!
This one is about giving an extra feel of weight to your characters.
