To talk just a bit more about this, as an author in this fandom and the Unus Annus fandom, I've been so lucky in terms of my fics and Tumblr popularity. I've enjoyed writing for a while, I've read fanfiction since I was 9, I understand how difficult it can be to get yourself off the ground.

In any irl situation, having 75 people read something you wrote is fucking terrifying. Have 7 of those 75 take time to tell you they like it is even crazier.

In my 2 years on AO3, I've written <53k words, published 21 (counting the one I took down) and have grown so much as an author. Though I'm not pumping out as many fics as I was at the beginning, I find myself having more ideas and spending more time on things I'm interested in instead of starting 60+ drafts that never see the light of day.

Maybe one day they will.

I feel as though I've branched out, from songfics and pregnancy reveals to stories that have more interesting subtleties and differing plots.

That being said, the fic I wrote with the most hits is my very first. Currently it has 4,486, which is fucking crazy, but also I hate that fic. It's baseless, fluffy, nonsense for the sake of being angsty.

It makes up less than 16% of my hits, and yet it feels so impossible to move on from.

That being said, I have more than 28,000 hits on 20 fics. That's fucking ridiculous. That's a city of people.

I'm so grateful for what I've had, but ao3 is such a fragile meta and having statistics weigh on me like they have has ruined my enjoyment.

I plan to rerelease my clingy duo fic at a better time, maybe after some edits, and I'll have another dnf fic up sometime soon. I'd like to pretend it hasn't become a chore, but sometimes it does feel like that, and I want to be honest.

Please continue to support your local fandom authors through comments and kudos, it means more than you could ever know.

Deleted my most recent fic off ao3. Gonna try reposting it in a while (preferably when we get more clingy duo content) stats were upsetting me big time and made me feel super shitty
