So i have very strong pattern recognition, right? I get this itch in the back of my brain that says “hey pay attention, this might be important.”

Well recently, (in like the past few days) that itch has been going off like crazy whenever my partner texts me about our plans for an upcoming date.

Exhibit 1: He wants to take me to my “absolute favorite” restaurant in town

Exhibit 2: Afterwards, he wants to go “somewhere romantic”, like this big statue on the river that’s basically our city’s symbol.

Do you see where my brain is going with this?

I think he’s going to propose. It’s not totally out of the blue, we’ve discussed plans for the future, like waiting until we’re both out of school to get married. And recently his mom’s been pushing really hard for us to get engaged before I go to Europe for school.

And I know it’s not really anything new, that we’ve already said we want forever with each other, but I’m a little terrified. We’ve only been together for not quite nine months (which is longer than his parents dated before getting married, but that’s another story), and we’re both still very young.

I’m just scared of messing it all up, i guess. He’s a wonderful person and deserves so much more than me and all my baggage.
