Fun Fact: The song probably deals with mental illness (possibly depression), the discomfort felt by child while growing up and the struggle to regain the sense of innocence lost once you become an adult. The simplistic language used through the song is quite possibly a way to express the idea of the childish idealization of sleep and trying to escape reality.

Fun Fact: so I couldn't really find anything so I've started looking for the meaning of the song but the opinions were very different, but they fall in mostly two categories. 1) So it seems the character may be depressed or bad at dealing with change and wishing to go back to the beach where the song started, 2) they could've fallen in love with someone just to be betrayed but tried to pretend nothing happened.
